Default Is anyone feeling a bit Van Halened out???

I feel like I've listened to the new album so much and read about it and the tour, that I'm kind of sick of it. (even though the album is still great no matter how many listens)

I'm going to see them twice at MSG next week. But I feel like I need to withdraw a bit from Van Halen until then. I feel I've over done it

    Anyone else feel this way?
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

That's normal, and healthy. Too much of anything gets sickening after a while.

    Nope.

With this new disc and two CF releases, I'm happier than a pig in shit right now. Can't stop listening to kick ass music.

This. Plus listening to the six pack as well.

I'm trying to avoid youtubes of opening night but that isn't working out to well

Just the opposite. I've been in such a VH zone lately that I've actually listened to FUCK, OU812, 5150, and Balance several times each the past few days. On top of beating the hell out of ADKOT. It's been a long time since I listened to any Van Hagar albums start to finish but I can't get enough of listening to Ed these days so I've been dusting it all off. Somehow it all sounds kind of fresh to me and I've been eating it up.

    Yup.

When I first heard the new record I was blown away. But after about a week, I could care a less anymore. I think it's because I was all pumped for new stuff, which I got, but there were too many "heard it before" type tunes (re-hashed demos) so it felt like nothing was really new after a bit.

Not sure if anyone else feels that too...?
One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

    My wife is! Ha!

She goes, "I guess this obsession is going to last until about 3 months after we see the concert".

    I guess, if she's lucky.

I know how you feel. I have listened to the new CD so much I decided to give it a break and listen to some other music. I am also going to both shows at MSG.

Good Idea. Adding VHII to the rotation now.

Fourteen years between albums. It's going to take longer than two weeks to burn me out on new material.

Very normal. Take one whole day off, trust me. Nothing Van Halen for one whole day. Worked for me. I was feeling this way just before the cd release day. Might take a day or two before the show I'm seeing as well.

I played ADKOT 8-10 times a day all the way through since before release, up until 2 days ago. Now it's only 1-2

Yeah. Listened to it so much it kind of washes over me, so listening to other things. Still watched all the video though, and also looking forward to MSG next week.
