    Default Eddie and Keyboards

Are the keyboards that you hear during Jump recorded by Eddie before the tour, or do they directly sample the recording from the original song Jump. Also will he ever play keyboards on stage because I think it would be a real treat if he did. But... maybe Roth would get pissed

Sounds to me like the keys in Jump and I'll Wait are just tracks from the original recordings.

I think it's pretty lame...would be much cooler - and less prone to disaster like that infamous clip from the last tour - if they just hired a guy to play those two songs.

Or also maybe They could just let Eddie play them and then have wolfie play lead guitar and pipe in the bass instead

    That would be even worse!!!

Seriously...piping in the bass? Might as well pipe in the drums and let Alex play keyboards.

Just get a freakin' roadie to play it, jeesh.

Some think Eddie was out of key...some think the "keyboards" (tape) was out of key...who knows.

Also, I think piping in the bass on those songs would be fine...the bass is an insignificant instrument in van halen anyway, as we know lol. For a couple songs let Wolfie show his chops on lead, have Ed noodle on the keyboard. Way better than some fake ass electronic recording looping around. That's not rock and roll

They could just eliminate Jump and I'll Wait and not have to worry about it.

I'm sorry, but no. There's nothing fucking "rock n roll" about piping in bass, that's absolutely ridiculous.

The Cars recent reunion tour had piped in bass, and it really sucked. They should have hired a replacement for Orr.

I'll Wait is awesome. Hope they play it in Boston. Still a top highlight for me from the '07 tour.

Could do without Jump. Still love the song but I don't need to see it live.

VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.
