What is up in Chickenfoot land? They are totally missing the opportunity to piggyback the VH excitement. Why didn't they make a video for Different Devil? Why haven't they been on TV promoting it? I think they are blowing a once-in-a-lifetime shot at some free publicity.

I'm speculating here and I know I'll get shit on for suggesting this, but the new album is just not selling as well as the first and that may very well be a big factor in touring, promotion, etc. Since they're probably financing some of the tour themselves given they're not on a major label, they may not see the point in spending the money for what could be little return. It is a business after all and despite what they say in public, money talks and just because they all have a boatload of it, doesn't mean they want to lose it either. I say this not to belittle the actual new album quality or the band itself, but just to suggest that there are possibly economics at play here.

I don't care. If they hit the US in the summer, that's easier for me to get to.

Selfish of me, perhaps, but I'm not upset that they haven't toured yet.

I'm not sure what's going on. Opening week was 42,000 versus 49,000 for CFI - sure it's a bit less, but every record is selling less.
My take is that Sam has a lot of other ventures - book, liquor, etc. He loves CF but it's not the be all end all for him. Mikey is the one who's probably bummed the most about the lack of activity.

I don't agree. I think it's just the opposite. If anything I think CF was much better off when VH was dormant. They had the spotlight all to themselves.

With people so over the top excited about VH right now I think CF is on the back burner for most. I'm so into the new VH that Chickenfoot isn't even on my radar these days.

    Chicken who?
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

Yeah I'm kind of the same way. I was never the biggest vocal supporter of CF, but I love their first album. I haven't even thought about playing CF III since the new VH came out. That's to be expected I guess, but I wouldn't mind seeing CF making the PR rounds and seeing them play live on tv somewhere. The only problem is that then the questions start coming and then Sammy says stuff that gets us all pissed off.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I know we, the fans, wanted III ASAP. I think CF gave it to us at the risk of what we're into now. A stop, start, stop kinda maybe tour thingy. We all know the summer is going to be wild. CF is looking to play arenas, etc. What concerns me is that the record will be "old" by the time they get that far.

Personally, I'm hoping that when spring rolls around, "Who's Next?" will be released with the full rock-star treatment, videos and all. Maybe actually get played on the radio?! That will (hopefully) fuel the fire for a US tour and put our boys back on the map.

Funny how they named the album III to make light of the sophomore slump, but the slump seems to have turned around and bit them in the ass. Sure they will be out touring this summer, but the album seems to be dead in the water. I guess it was all about timing this time around... and everything was out of sync.
