Default Do you still hear the old demos?

Or have the reworked archive songs become new tunes for you by now?

"Beats Workin'" is the only one that hasn't totally flushed the demo version from my mind while listening. I still want to say "Fast Eddie, He's getting ready". when the song starts like on "Put out the Lights".

The demos are still in my head but I like having both and prefer the new finished versions

Only the riffs at the beginning of the songs. Although, like Interceptor said, occasionally I do still want to say "Fast Eddie...." in Beat's Workin'.

No. They've been completely replaced for me with the new awesomeness.

I still hear demos and think of the old words on Beat's Workin' and Tattoo...For the most part, I'm now used to the others.

I think Beat's Workin' and Tattoo are worse (lyrically and singing only) thatn Put out the lights and Down in Flames.
    Right here I say....

    Oh-La-La!

    Ut-oh! Ut-oh! I'm out the Window!

Only She's The Woman and Bullethead were improved for me. Big Trouble, Put Out The Lights, Let's Get Rockin', Down In Flames should have lyrically stayed the same (or only been slightly tweaked). Dave's original lyrics were brilliant. Same with the original House Of Pain versus 1984's House Of Pain.

Yea I find they all have been replaced and I barely notice the old demos. Plus I haven't listened to the demos in many years. Didn't Ed mention something years ago about them being unreleased for a reason like possibly being used in newer songs or is that just my imagination?

Big River is the only one for me that does not do the original justice. Listen to the original Big Trouble everything is better Ed's tone, Dave vocals, and especially the backing vocals of Michael Anthony. The cheesy new lyrics especially " rollin" in the chorus totally ruined this one for me. Even Eddie's guitar sounds a little unclear at times - the original is much much superior!

I love them both---I have the demos and other cuts all over my Youtube page---but I haven't put new VH on there. I want people to buy it--not hear it off of my Youtube page. I rather enjoy turning people on to the old stuff !!!!

I did a little eq work on my winamp so I could turn it on when listening to Big River. In other words I brought that track sonically down to the poor quality of Big Trouble demo. When I did that they seemed pretty close to the same for me.

Like you I will say I miss Mike on this one (not all on the cd), and I miss some parts of the old melody. But I'm super glad they kept the main melody on this one, as opposed to some of the other tracks where they really changed the melody completely around (love that they did this on some of the other revisited tracks)

I still hear the demos. It will take some time to get those out of my head.

I knew those old demos too well not to hear them.

I Love the finished product !!

Bass playing is great, and you can actually hear it.

Although I love the old lyrics of "Let's Get Rockin'" and "Big Trouble", I don't find myself trying to sing the old lyrics to the new songs. I think I am past that, now. In fact, I'm the other way around, because now everytime that I listen to "Ripley" in my mind I'm singing the lyrics to "Blood And Fire" as the music plays.
