They are going to have to lower the ticket prices for the lower level seating for most of these shows. They are just too expensive. The promoters way overstepped on the prices. Other than the die hard fanbase, people are just not wanting to spend $160 on a seat that isn't even on the floor. If they don't lower some of these prices there is going to be several more cancelations I'm afraid and it's just going to make the band look bad.

Do they refund the fees too or only the face value? It's damn near $40 in fees for two tickets!

I wonder why tickets are so expensive one the last two tours. I guess they think they can get it. Tickets for AC/DC's Black Ice tour were only $100 on the floor if I'm not mistaken, and they always have way more stage production/lighting/props than Van Halen does. Of course, they usually tour the entire planet, so maybe that helps spread the cost better. I have no idea--just spitballing here.

State College is not a very large town on the weekdays outside of college students, who - by and large - are poor and not Van Halen fans. Hershey or Scranton would have been a better central PA venue, eventhough they are not technically central PA.

Show cancelled due to lack of advertising funds.

I wouldn't worry about it.........it's not a big college town.

I was puzzled by the choice in the first place.

Tickets purchased with a credit card through Ticketmaster, the BJC,
Eisenhower Auditorium, the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center or Penn
State Altoona will be automatically refunded to those credit cards, Punt
    wrote in an email.

Only 116 students had purchased tickets through credit card before the
    cancellation, he wrote.

Ticket prices for this tour are just absurd. I am in the NY metro area, make a pretty good living, and wanted to see about 4 shows, and planned to drive to NJ, CT and Mass, but at 200 per, forget that idea. I know other die-hards that have simply said no to these ticket prices too.

I saw VH on ever tour since 88 and would always get multiple show dates, and swore I wouldn't pay "that much for a ticket", but at 2 bills it's really made me question "how much do I like these guys??". I am sure this tour will break revenue records but with these prices its no surprise.

I am actually surprised more shows haven't been canceled/consolidated.

Prices were high for the last tour ...around $125-150 per ticket.

They are even higher this time around and it's a big mistake.

I saw them 6 or 7 times last tour.

I'm seeing them once this time.

In the clips I've seen, Roth sounds terrible. Not worth the money.

In the end this tour will be remembered for the great CD they put out. But compared to last tour I think the shows will be far worse unless Roth suddenly gets better.
