    Default Pride

I apologize if this is redundant, but I just have to say that given all the drama with the history of this band, I am so proud to be a VH fan right now. I had no idea they were still able to perform at this level at their ages (minus Wolfgang). I think this is possibly the best album by any rock band this far into their career ever! Just a proud moment.
If it sounds like bull shit, feels like bull shit, and appears to be bull shit, it's probably Eddie talking about his new lead singer being his new brother at a press conference...

I agree with you, man. ADKOT is truly a "kick the door in, fire at will, and take no prisoners"-type of album. I'm trying to think of another rock band that made such a bad ass record so late in their career.

    I agree as well!

With a kick ass album like this one, it is a great time to be a VH fan.

I am also proud to say that among my buddies, I kept the VH banner flying high!!
It wasn't always easy but I had belief that if Eddie got cleaned up, good things would happen.

Agree 100%. For three guys in their late 50s to kick ass like this is impressive! I can't think of another band that could pull it off.

    Of course I'm biased...
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

I'm still overwhelmed of how much passion, effort and aggression (HEAVY sound) was put into ADKOT. This disc has easily exceeded my expectations considering the band's age and rocky history.

AC/DC's Black Ice. Probably their best album since For Those About to Rock.

Totally agreed. I was listening with a buddy and we both had to stop ourselves and remember that we weren't listening to classic VH, rather a brand new album! It feels like my cells have rejuvenated and I am 16 back in 1985!

I've always been proud to be a fan of the mighty Van Halen through all the turmoil. The release of ADKOT couldn't have come at a better time for me (right after football season ended). Van Halen season is in full swing~!

Rock music needed a kick in the ass, and boy did it ever get a serious beat-down! This resets the bar for bands everywhere. If I were Aerosmith or any other band that's been around a long time, I'd be damn sure that my next cd brings it.

Sorry, dude, but Black Ice sucked. I'm a huge, huge AC/DC fan (AC/DC and VAN HALEN WERE my two teenage-year bands) and all AC/DC does in their old age is mid-tempo Stone-sy shit. They don't even try and rock hard, heavy, and with extreme energy anymore. 5 million copies of Black Ice sold be damned. I gave it a few spins and never returned to it. If AC/DC rocked hard again like VAN HALEN does on A Different Kind Of Truth, AC/DC would have sold 10 million copies.

This pride in VAN HALEN we are experiencing and expressing isn't biased. I played some of the harder rock tracks for people at work and casual fans (rock fans that pretty much just knew the old radio hits) all had the same reaction...thrash metal, doesn't sound like guys in their 50s usually do, etc. A least three casual fans from work said they are going to buy it now that I played them some of the harder tracks. This album has legs. Word of mouth is going to spread. VAN HALEN is going viral in 2012, baby, and this has just begun! It is not going to be an album just for die-hards.

I usually listen to sports radio in my car. But this past week, for the first time, I've been listening to the new album over and over. 28 years I've been waiting for this.

I'm like "I'm listening to a VH full album with Roth . . . . <gasp> something I thought would never happen. Am I dreaming? And this album kisks ass. I can't *&^$ing believe I have a Van Halen Album. There are now Classic 7 instead of 6. What an awesome feeling. I'm 14 years old again."

If you didn't know who these guys were and just listened to the record you would have no idea they're in their late 50s.

I think this album translates well across a wide variety of ages and rock sensibilities.
