Ed's entire work on Honeybabysweetiedoll is sick! That China Town intro is really cool too.

I'm sure this will change multiple times, but the guitar solo in Blood and Fire was completely unexpected and gave me some serious goosebumps when I first heard it. Still does.

Beats Workin'. Pure guitar hero swagger. Not the fastest, not the flashiest, just the coolest. I wish that solo section was much longer.
What once upon a time made Van Halen unique in the progression of metal and hard rock (besides Eddie’s prowess as a guitarist) was its sense of fun, its willingness to be not just over the top, but weird.

So far for me, it would have to be the solo in China Town. It's like Eddie decided to regain his throne with that one.

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

Honeybabysweetiedoll was a ferocious EVH letting every one know he's the baddest meanest guitar player in the universe!!!

the Blood and Fire solo is one of my favorite EVH moment! just amazing.

China Town, As Is, Big River, Shes The Woman, etc. heck every song is just unbelievable.

    The King Is Back!!!!

Posted this after the first time I heard ADKOT on Thursday. Now that you all heard it..what do you think of my coments!!!

Got the cd this morning. Listened a bit during my lunch break and the whole thing on the way home from work.And....

I feel like I've been in a street fight....like I've been raped by a guitar. Not since the first album have we seen a guitar assault like this from Ed.Even Ed's playing on Fair Warning is not this straight foward foot to the pedal smashing. There are no solo's to match the "feel of the song" on this cd. Just a guitar assault. I think Ed wanted to remind the world of what he is- and that he created shredding. Not going to review each song. Tattoo and Stay Frosty are the two mellowist tunes on the cd...and they crank. The cd is just a guitar assault. The King Is Back!!!

Yeah and the intro too! That song was just like "Hi, I'm Eddie Van Halen. You may remember me from Eruption, Mean Street, or Hot For Teacher. Now I'm gonna show you something just as amazing. I'm putting the guitar world on notice that I'm back!" lol

I feel like the mighty VH just kicked me in the teeth. Dude, this F'N rocks balls off. ADKOT just may have catapulted to my second favorite Roth-era VH album, at least 3rd best. VH 1, Fair Warning, ADKOT.
