A forgotten deep cut from an underrated album. Love it.

    Thanks for that, Jeff!
It's such a cool jam (as JD said!) and that bass was so good...then to find out it was Eddie tearin' it up on Mike's bass was astonishing and also made sense, given Eddie's amazing abilities and creativity!

    Very cool surprise, indeed!

Yeah, when those '79 audios came out, a lot of people were praising the bass playing in that breakdown.

Ed is just a monster. Like his son, he seems to be amazing on every instrument. That VH blood!

It would be cool to hear more of his bass playing. Oh, I just remembered "Winner Takes it All". And that entire 'Never Said Goodbye' album. Will have to listen to that again some...

They're finally making more of the merchandise it makes sense to make, IMO.

Also, each year it builds on the years before. Each year there are thousands more happy customers getting stuff they like. And we're getting a little better, too. Our customer service is better than ever.

And I've been doing e-commerce for 25 years. Van Halen Store launched online even before Amazon and eBay did! Yep, our site is about a half-year older than Amazon and eBay. It's probably older than 99% of all websites that any of us visit. We've been here all along. And it's not just the store by itself. Originally, The Inside magazine, was part of it, and now, VHND synched with it all.

Vs I gotta stand up and side with jd here. You guys have been pretty civil to each other. Keep it that way. Maybe a year ago you guys would’ve been at each other’s throats. So it appears to me he’s making a concerted effort to respect opinions. Embrace it. Not everything is a fact bro.

FWIW, this exact post is what got fanboys' panties in a wad. Jeff, Noise, JD, whathaveyou.

    It is what it is.

That's what started the personal attacks and condescension, and the ongoing horror that is 'the way VS words his posts.'

I can certainly handle any opposing views to my wild takes on the reality of VH, lol...but I've been fairly polite, I think.

Meanwhile, if you'd like me to go back and quote JD's responses to me, several of them, to track the progression of hostility, I'm happy to do so. Just because someone 'dials' back the rhetoric and qualifies it via the use of sarcasm, doesn't change the leopard's spots.

I’ve read the thread. It’s open to interpretation. As I said, you guys have been cool. It serves no purpose for him to take a blind potshot. Chalk this up to a misunderstanding and be on your way.

    I'm aware, bud.

Not every VH opinion that's based on their history to date is a slag either. Nor should any opinion about a rock band be taken personally.

It's funny, because I couldn't give less of a red fuck whether VH became a nostalgia band or not. Shit, they could run a 20 song set of 80s bananarama covers for all I care, if Ed and Al are playing, I'm buying tickets. I was just pointing out what seems to be obvious. I'm good at stating the obvious. Less good at stating the less obvious, clearly.
