The current Sam and Dave threads running in main are both going to go down the shitter.

Is that random, or speaking the obvious?

I hated the chorus & high pitched singing (Mike....whom i LOVE now, btw)

A year later, i remember hearing DTNA, a lot, in the background.
I remember thinking: I like this song.

I was a child, so i didn't realize it was the same band.

Then 1980 hit, Cradle was on the radio, and i said: THIS IS AWESOME!
I loved it, still not knowing who VH was, or the songs before were connected.

I got my mom to buy me WACF.

A couple weeks later, i was given a new copy of VHII, from the sister of my brother's GF (later
    wife, later divorced).

I put VHII and was floored by, You're no good.

Then DTNA comes on, and major lightbulb moment:
OMG, this was THAT band from the radio, i know this song!

I also remember, on my parents stereo, DTNA just sounded incredible.
I loved the song even more.

So I received my first unemployment check Monday, and today when I checked, I had two more in there. They weren't the same amount as my UI, but they were for the same amount. That amount does not equal the $600.00 of the stimulus package, so I'm not sure what they are.

    Probably a mistake.

I keep getting denied by these fucks.

They say, due to Covid 19 "work search" is not required to receive benefits.
But i'm being denied for not submitting "work search."

The MA website looks & runs like it's still 1996, with dial up.
The PDF's they send, never open.

I swear it's designed to make the user just quit.

I file every Sunday, three times now, and i keep getting rejected for my tiny amount
(like 60 percent of pay, plus taxes taken out).

At this point, i'm not expecting that stimulus check.

    Thanks man!

And i remember these damn things in detail.

I still remember the feeling of awe after hearing SGMAD & Bottom's.
Then flipping the vinyl and getting blown away by LUTS.

Think of the first time you heard these songs.

I remember getting WACF & looking at the song titles, thinking these sound so cool:
Tora, Tora, Romeo Delight, Everybody want's some, Loss of control...

Remember the days when VH had THE coolest titles?

Sinner's Swing, Unchained, Mean Street, Atomic Punk, Hang em High, DOA....

Later on, the titles started to suck: Love walks in, Outtaspace, Big River, When it's love,
Once, Without you, Cant stop lovin' you....

All sorts of generic sounding titles.

But on the mighty six, those titles just felt dangerous, somehow.

I'm surprised "From Afar" is that disliked (saw the thread was close). I always thought it was one of the better half of songs from 3 and really dug it.

I'm not surprised its hated, but count me as one who liked it. The problems with it for me are:

    1. It suffers, as most tracks on the album do, from an agonizingly slooooow tempo.

    2. I'm pretty positive that this is one of the tracks that Ed played the drums on. The hi hat motif is waaaaay to simplistic during the verses and also during the guitar solo. Just doesnt sound like anything Alex would play.

It's so weird that he would play drums on that song, if true. It's like, "Why?"
