Cool. I'll play.
Need some advice, Linkers.
So I got a new pup back in August and named him Eddie Van Tailen. My vet estimated his birthday to be in early February. I had planned to officially celebrate his birthday on Feb. 8th, which was my late grandpa's birthday. He even has his own Facebook page which I used that date for (don't laugh, he has 75 friends, and all but 5 of them sent him a friend request).
My dilemma is this - now that I have realized the ADKOT release date is one day prior to that, should I "change" his birthday to reflect the release date, considering his namesake and all?

Do you think if you took the third word from each line of the new songs in reverse order you'd hear a secret message that Dave is sending to Sammy about how great it is to be in the band again?
What once upon a time made Van Halen unique in the progression of metal and hard rock (besides Eddie’s prowess as a guitarist) was its sense of fun, its willingness to be not just over the top, but weird.

I'm gonna purge a little here. Here's a quick Ten. I'll add more later. Nice Thread.
1. EVH - Thank you in the biggest way. No guitarist has pulled off what you are pulling off here. To return at this level after so long stands alone. Hendrix was great for a very short time. ditto on Rhodes and SRV. Page was and is great but has never reclaimed his brilliance at this level. Clapton? not bad. George Lynch? faded. Vitto Bratta? faded. Vai? whatever. Malmsteen? I don't know or care. Vernon Reid? kudos and that's all. Tom Morello - I like your stuff. Keep going. Bottom line is I cannot think of any artist of this genre that has returned to such form. Truly unbelievable. Eddie you are KING.
2. Eddie Trunk - I predict you will change your mind and say so on TV. Not that I care about your opinion per se but I do realize you are the only thing Metal on TV and that is worth something. Plus you expose the RRHOF every chance you get. I respect that.
3. Sammy - Thank you for the 90's. The more you talk the more you diminish your strong legacy. let it go.
4. Van Squalen - you were wrong all along. vete a la mierda.
5. Michael Anthony - It's all good. you are solid.
6. Rolling Stone mag - still a joke. maybe you'll re-order the list and save a little face.
7. Rock n Roll Hall of Fame - Too little too late. Fade away.
8. Brett - Thank you for this site. Awesome.
9. Soft Rockers - Step Aside.
10. My son- who loves Eddie's guitar sound - I can't believe you are experiencing the same joy I experienced when I was your age. I love you.Last edited by vistadelrey; 01.27.12 at 12:10 PM.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.
