The Fractal is an effects preamp. There's nothing it can't do....You want your guitar to sound like a Violin?...You can do that. You want an accurate model of virtually any amp on the market?...You got it. You want all the detune effects of the Eventide?..Yup, you can have them too. There's regular firmware updates and new patches/effects/models being added all the time so there's no end to the possibilities.

I have an Axe FX Ultra and I wouldn't swap it for the world...If you want to get the best from it though, get a midi foot controller.

The new Axe FX Ultra II will be around $2,800 (again, eBay this morning)
The MCF-101 Midi foot controller for the Fractal (mki & II) is around $650 (eBay)
A used Eventide H3000 will be between $800-$1,200 (Yes, eBay again!)
