Default Will the younger generation swing to ADKOT?

I know that my 12 year old son is loving what he has heard so far and cannot wait for the show.
He has Tattoo on his Ipod and he top 2 most played songs on it are Tattoo and Sexy and I Know It.

How are others' here kids liking it?
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

My daughters are digging the hell out of BaF, don't really like Tattoo, and got made when the previews for China Town, You and Your Blues, and As Is cut off.

    I'm very proud of them

"I got Tattoo on my iPod,
    and when it plays,
    my head bobs..."

I'm yet to play anything to my toddlers. It'll blast through the stereo when I get the CD though. Boo-yah!

I work in the school system. Now, where I am, this kind of music is NOT popular anyway, so I can't say it's representative of the rest of the world. This place is kind of a music black hole in some ways.

But here, in the schools, no one knows who Van Halen is, absolutely nobody.

I was engaged to a girl 10 years my junior, and she called Van Halen old man music.

Guitar and drums... they're not necessary any more, it seems. Rap is the thing now, and club music. A huge mechanical beat with a fake bass line and someone talking about how rich they are and how dangerous they are... that seems to be the norm these days.

That or super angsty rock bands.
    Hit the ground running...

We came through blood and fire...

"I aim to misbehave." - Captain Malcolm Reynolds: Firefly

Proud fan of BOTH major eras of Van Halen. Yes, we do exist.

"Men never commit evil so fully and joyfuly as when they do it for religious convictions"-- Blaise Pascal (1623-1662)

The Sass Jordan version of Van Halen was the best...

    I doubt it.

When I was a kid, I wouldn't listen to something from some guys in their 50's who were popular 25 years ago.

My 3 year old son has been singing "Tattoo, Tattoo, Tattoo, Tattoo" non-stop for the past few weeks. Does that count? lol

Can you put up a poster with the VH album cover and 2/7/12 in the hallway at your school?

I'm of a "younger generation." I was in swaddling clothes when David Lee Roth quit the band.

Many of my friends are younger than me, 20-22.

A lot of 'em like "Tattoo" because it sounds like a lot of the stuff that's currently on the radio... A few days ago, I played a group of friends "Chinatown," "As Is," and a few others from A Different Kind of Truth.

Immediately after, we bought tickets for the show... None of us have the money for it... Spent our last dollars... But this might be the best classic rock comeback in history... It's like going from Guitar Hero to the real thing.

I think if the album opens up at #1 on the billboard chart and stays their a few weeks, kids will check it out and many will dig it.

Are they expecting it to open at #1?

I bet =VH= will open at #1. Last week, Adele held the #1 spot and sold 97k albums. Van Halen will -- at least -- sell twice that many in its first week. (Perhaps more. Interscope expects it to sell between 250k-275k in its first week -- amazing, considering that "Balance," released in 1995, well before the record industry went down the drain, sold 295k in its first week.)

If Van Halen can hang in the Top 10 for 3 weeks or so, they'll have a MAJOR hit record on their hands, by today's measuring stick of album success.

    No. They're old people's music.
