Wow, this song's as hard to read as it is for Dave to sing LOL

I love the song, but I hope Dave brings his shoehorn to every show to get all them words in. You can't overdub yerself live, boss!
What once upon a time made Van Halen unique in the progression of metal and hard rock (besides Eddie’s prowess as a guitarist) was its sense of fun, its willingness to be not just over the top, but weird.

I'm placing bets that this will be played live. It's too good a song and gives Dave the stage with his guitar and it's a rocker....

Best of Both Worlds right there I say....
Imagine a world without Eddie Van Halen.

"From the moment David Lee Roth appeared at the top of a giant runway that snaked through the Oklahoma City Ford Center audience Tuesday night, he wore the one thing that told every Van Halen fan that everything was right with the world. It was a maniacal Cheshire cat smile announcing happiness and enthusiasm that cannot be faked. Not only was the old band back together, it was thriving."

I gotta say, I'm mighty impressed with this song. Take the classic formula of "Ice Cream Man", modernize it and make it even more kickass than it already was, and pretty damn philosophical lyrics to match, and we've got "Stay Frosty".

Now, I was lurking when this happened, but I recall folks thinking this song was going to be just plain cheesy due to the title. Granted, similar thoughts were made for "Honeybabysweetiedoll" and we all know how that turned out. The boys really have come out with a special album here.
I don't always listen to Van Halen, but when I do, I prefer David Lee Roth. 'Stay Frosty' my friends. - The Most Interesting Man In The World

Dave crammed an assload of lyrics into this album... Tons of material. And it's not all garbage. Agreed that some of the songs will a bitch for him live.

I have a feeling they'll play this instead of "Ice Cream Man"

Agreed. And honestly, I don't mind that.

I gotta figure out how to blow this up to a good resolution....all these lyrics sheets are works of art if you ask me and I think they are wicked.

Plus the fact that my 9 year old daughter just came hom from gymnastics practice signing the chorus to Stay Frosty....I might say that's pretty damn cool.

+1. He's lyrics are very.... different from what we might expect of classic VH. I think it's his old wit mixed with 30 years of experience and seeing a variety of things/people/places throughout life. I've found it kind of inspiring for my own songwriting (not that I'm stealing anything from him, LOL).
