    Default MA and Sammy

Before this gets closed. I would like to say their contributions to this band were huge and great. MA is a great bassist and Sammy is a great singer who brought the band into a different era and created amazing music just like he's said. I'm sure deep down Eddie gives them the most respect he's just bad at showing it.

I've never been someone to hold onto band members or play them against each other. I think Van hagar was different and I'm glad it happened. I think some of their songs are the best VH has ever done. It's just a different sound and I'm glad it happened.

But after listening to these clips VH goes on. Much like they did with Sammy. This band is in good hands with Dave and Wolfy. Both are doing an amazing job.

To all the people saying this band isn't van halen without Dave. Or without MA. Or without Sammy. I disagree. They've been great throughout. The only time they really struggled with their music was when Eddie was falling apart and had reached his limit of drugs, alcohol and cigarettes.

Otherwise I think their music has always been amazing. Every record.

Wolfy can play. I just wish we could drop the crap and saying oh I wish MA was here. Wolfy is off on this track etc. Or sammy isn't the same as Dave. Or dave doesn't sound right here. It's all a bunch of bs.

Wolfies backing vocals along with Eddie and the bass work on this album is amazing. He compliments Alex and Eddie much like MA did.

You never mentioned Gary. I'm sure you hurt his feelings by not mentioning him... That was pretty hurtful not to at least give him a brief mention...

I think I'm gonna start a new thread titled "crap I know doesn't need to be its own thread but I'm gonna start a new one anyways just to piss the mods off".

yeah i'm a hypocrit I guess. hehe. Eddie was on too many drugs there and had been drinking too much.

But seriously. Even Gary. I love extreme.

I also think VHIII is still an amazing record. Maybe not their best but they have a lot to live up to and the bar is set so high.

I think this did need it's own thread though because I'm not sure some people get it. Even still. I just wanted to make sure. I've just heard it enough for years where there is always going to be that guy who doesn't get it.

Because I knew someone who knows better would. I honestly forgot about mitch malloy. Damn I don't even think I've heard a van halen song with Mitch Malloy. Maybe I have and didn't realize it.

I can thank every producer too and every tech and stagehand as well for this amazing music. Al's wife and his girlfriend. And Valerie too. But I didn't go that far.
