    Default Bonus DVD Question.

Hi dudes. It's my first new thread, only taken me nearly 12 years, so go easy on me my fellow linkers

Anyone know if the bonus DVD is just 4 acoustic songs or is it a full blown documentary?

First we get Daves scrapbook, the YRGM session and also the recordings of the guys talking about the old days. Someone has been recording and filming behind the scenes me thinks.

Just a thought, or am I way off track?

    Peace

no offense, but how could anyone know this here?

When it comes out...then we will know what it is?...until then its pure speculation.

Dude, you joined 'Links 2 days before me. What took you so long to post? Truth be told nobody knows for sure what will be on bonus DVD. Little less than 3 weeks to go.

Are you kidding? This is the links. The item not being released yet won't stop the naysayers. [stupid van halen fan]"Is anyone else disappointed by the Bonus DVD stuff"[/stupid van halen fan]

Well, when the deluxe edition CD/DVD was originally announced, it was said to be four acoustic performances. I believe that will hold true for the CD/DVD release.

I think we'll be seeing a full length documentary later this year though.

If you like cool, rock music, check out REVERY. We've put out two albums, and an EP. We were signed back in '06 and toured the US (our single Popstar Wedding was all over the radio back then). Our latest album, Adora De Phonic is available on Itunes, Amazon, etc.

I thought I read that the DVD 'included' the 4 performances. So that there must be other stuff on it.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this.

I pre-ordered the first day the Deluxe I -tunes version and noticed it says three acoustic songs and an intro to one of the songs. The same at VHND. So does it means we actually get just three songs and a jam? or Is the intro just Dave talking?

    This is what it says:

    1) Panama (Acoustic)
    2) You and Your Blues (Intro, Acoustic)
    3) You and Your Blues (Acoustic)
    4) Beautiful Girls (Acoustic)

I got nervous I was going to miss on something so I went ahead and also pre-ordered the actual deluxe CD/DVD from VHND. Just to make sure that if, in fact there is a documentary, or an additional performance, I do not miss it. I hope there's more in the DVD.

This is also being discussed on the YRGM thread but as I said there it seems clear that the original intent was to have four songs on it but YRGM got cut at the last minute when they couldn't get permission to sell it. That's why they just released it online. As far as the remainder of the dvd I assume it'll be a bit of the guys talking about the old days like in those teaser clips from a couple weeks ago. When Dave says "documentary" I'm sure that's what he means, footage of them playing and talking, not any sort of retrospective film or anything. That's my take, anyway.

It also says "Song by song" at the beginning, so I guess we'll be getting 12 more!

Thinking that we'll see more of a DVD down the road...I can see them following up ADKOT quickly with the long awaited live album with Dave (from this tour) with the bonus DVD documentary.

odd, I wonder what all those audio clips of them talking were for. Must be a separate "documentary" release. If so, sweet.

All of these interviews could be the "documentary" he speaks of. That doesn't necessarily mean they will be sold though. They could very well just end up being freebies handed out to the fans post-release to drum up interest and sell the album.

They could make money off selling it, but I'm thinking they might actually throw us a bone and just put them online for free.

I do have a hard time thinking they will have a total of 20 minutes on the Bonus DVD, though. Especially since one of the tracks has already been released. Why bother with that when they could easily just sit down and shoot the shit for another 25 minutes to pack it full of stuff? They obviously have the material. To me, it makes the most sense to just throw all of the promotional videos on there (Tattoo, the lyrical explanations, Day in the Life of Dave thing, the audio from those discussions they had about the old days, etc.). That way it would all be in one central, hard copy, place.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.
