Brett has a link to Ticket Liquidators on the site, (see bottom)
They've already got tickets for sale? Astromical prices? What gives?

Am I alone in thinking I'll be able to get seats (albeit shitty ones) a couple weeks after they go on sale? Or are we assuming instant sell-outs?

Hey, I was at the 12/28/07 vegas show, too. Shitty seats.
What once upon a time made Van Halen unique in the progression of metal and hard rock (besides Eddie’s prowess as a guitarist) was its sense of fun, its willingness to be not just over the top, but weird.

Looks like it's a revolving ad but 50% of the time at the bottom of the page there is a link for TicketLiquidator.com

Do they just project they'll be able to buy them and resell them at this point or what? Tickets available at all announced venues already? Come on!

Brokers usually have a select set of tix that they buy for every show. My experience has been if you're going to go without question, try to get a VIP if you want to be up front. If it's a show you "might" go to, just hold out. Eventually these prices will settle down. I remember going to the '07 show at the Palace and I picked up a 2nd row ticket on StubHub three days before the show for about $325. Pricey, yes, but I was sitting next to people who payed $650 or $750 and I wasn't drinking, so I didn't want a "backstage party". I did the big package in '04 and at least then we got soundcheck and got to hang and talk with the band for 20-30 minutes. With Dave there was nothing like that, so it wasn't worth the additional cost. I was fortunate enough to get a free ticket to the Joe Louis show on the last tour and I was right in front of the soundboard. Eddie sucked, but I decided since they were coming back two nights later to the Palace, I'd spring for a ticket and hope he was better. He was better, but not great. He is back in top form this time and I am going all out for at least one show. The rest I'll travel and get the best seat I can just for the experiences.
