    Default So Cal Tour Dates

Allright fellow So Cal VHLinkers... with three shows to choose from, which one(s) are you hitting?

    Los Angeles?
    Anaheim?
    San Diego?
    All of the Above?

I'm for sure hitting SD, likely doing Anaheim, and *maybe* doing LA. (As a rule I try to avoid LA shows for 'local' bands, as the Hollywood scenesters come out in force, but VH may get me to break that rule...)

Anaheim, it is so close and not as big an arena as Staples so it will be a little more intimate. Plus, its van Fuckin Halen in my backyard!!!

Definitely doing San Diego. Maaaybe Anaheim or LA if I'm feeling saucy (and don't spring for the 5-star VIP package

    Vegas.

It's a sunday night so rooms will be dirt cheap at the lower end hotels.
What once upon a time made Van Halen unique in the progression of metal and hard rock (besides Eddie’s prowess as a guitarist) was its sense of fun, its willingness to be not just over the top, but weird.

When do regular tix go on sale? There are VIP stuff on T-master but I just want a regular ticket. What gives? I'm looking at the SD date.

    On that last tour,
LA was the best show out of the two I saw (SD & LA),
I'll probably go to Anaheim & LA this year,
    don't know...maybe all three.

    but DEFINITELY seeing LA,
they save up extra mojo for that one, it seemed to me.

Anaheim is the more logical show for me as I live only 15-20 minutes tops away from the arena in Huntington Beach. But for the '04 and '07 shows I caught, the band was definitely better both tours at Staples in LA then the Pond shows. The downside is parking and just driving around the area has become more and more FUBAR around Staples since all the new construction in the area (I hate parking in the structure, usually park in one of the lots a couple blocks away). Anaheim is such a breeze getting in and out of that arena.

In fact, the '04 LA show I saw at Staples (the night they played the first bit of Hot For Teacher before Eddie's solo) certainly appeared to be one of the most solid (as far as Eddie's playing is concerned) shows of the tour from all the bootlegs I've heard from that tour.

I fully expect them to bring their A Game as always for the LA crowd.

I saw them at both Staples and Anaheim back in '07. Getting out of the parking lot of Staples aftrewards was a disaster while getting out of Anaheim was, as you said, a breeze.

See, there's that too... the Staples center is such a fucking nightmare in terms of the location, parking, getting in/out... it's like the Hollywood Bowl in that regard.

    Ugh... dilemma.

I'd still rather go to Anaheim any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

That is, generally speaking, my beef.

It's great we now know (likely only some of) the tours itinerary. HOWEVER, we deserve more than just speculation as to when tickets might go on sale for the remainder of the tour. VIP Nation just says "coming soon" until they are on sale for example.

With a clue of when pre-sale, VIP and regular WILL BE GOING ON SALE....with a respectable amount of advance notice we can make plans to be ready. This is what gives those in the business of reselling tickets such an advantage... they're in the business, it's what they do in and out every day and can pounce gobbling up tickets they just want to make money on in a moment's notice. Us consumers, on the otherhand, have priorities , other jobs, that distract us from slowly finding our credit cards and punching the information into systems we're not familiar with. But we should have an opportunity to at least be able to schedule the ordeal!

I'll likely go to 2-3 if I don't find out an hour later it's too late.

We'll I thought today would be when the regular stuff goes on sale but there's nothing past 4/10 besides the VIP packages. Guess I'll just wait. They have to fleece as many people as they can first.
