I can't believe Yankee Rose didn't make that list!

I also can't believe RED made 131, that is Sammy's worst song!

Oh well, lots of great VH songs did make it.

Well, then I'll use the frown
    And the pissed off...
    And the confused .....

because I don't get it either. How did the best fucking song Van Halen ever did (and one that is 19 years later, on KISW's regular playlist) end up almost halfway down the list?

    Hell, I voted it for #1 !

    I DEMAND A RECOUNT!!!

My question is that I thought like every year up here in bremerton,wa they played the top #1000 and the last song of the #1000 would be played on new years eve night? Or so they try too at least.

Yeah, in theory they're supposed to get to #1 at exactly midnight on New Years Eve, but it never happens that way. And I think the fact that their morning show now consists of 4 hours of idiotic bullshit with no music at all, threw off their timing even more, which is why they had to start the countdown on Wednesday.

I approve of all the VH, but it seems a bit heavy on the Sam side. Sure, let's all just jump on the bandwagon and become fair-weather solo Sammy fans. Sheesh.

Actually, KISW has always supported Sammy as a solo artist. They had a series of "Rising Star" concerts in the 70's where you could see up and coming bands for only a buck! Sammy was their first show, in 77 or 78. They still play a lot of Sammy's solo stuff and have had a couple contests to win trips to Cabo, etc. But they play very little Van Hagar. Out of all the Van Hagar songs on the list, only "Finish What You Started", "Poundcake", and "Best of Both Worlds" have been heard on the radio since the 1996 mess. And even those three maybe get played once a month.

On the other hand, they play Van HALEN every day, yet (as the list would indicate) virtually no solo DLR. Go figure.......

I see... This station is obviously a huge Sammy supporter. Back home in Iowa, my radio station didn't play TONS of VH, but they did do a fair amount, and it was about equal on the Dave and Sammy eras (once I kept track of all the VH I heard for three months and it turned out almost exactly 50/50.) But, they played very little solo Sam, and I think I heard solo Dave ONE time.

(Isn't it crazy how we analyze the hell out of our local radio stations and how much Dave/Sammy/VH they're spinning?!)

Yah like Ford said, it's all hagared out up here in seattle. I wish they would play more VH than SH!

When any hagar shit I don't like comes on, that's when I turn the station to the End107.7 for a more alternative listening style.

BTW Ford you are exactly on the money on terms of explaining that whole KISW thang. Did they get rid of the original morning crew with Spike in it? I forgot the other guys?

I'm glad to see that they are doing the top 1000 list again. Go to www.kisw.com to check out past year's lists. They quit doing it for a few years and have now started up again. If you don't like this one, check out other years, they change quite a bit. I went to college up in seattle/tacoma area and I loved KISW. It is one of the last great radio stations left today. When everyone went alternative or hip hop they stuck to their guns. I will say however, that I'm pretty pissed about Bob Rivers and his crew leaving the station. They were great in the mornings. Anyone know what happend?

Nobody's really given an explanation for why Twisted Radio left KISW. Bob Rivers made it pretty obvious on the air a couple times that he and the station's general manager didn't get along very well. There was one point where the GM asked them to "increase the sleaze factor" of the show and basically try to be a Howard Stern ripoff. That wasn't their style, and it shouldn't have to be, since they had a successful formula as it is (Nothing against Howard Stern, but I don't see him in the CD store with 4 of the best Christmas albums ever made)

So now KISW has their Stern wannabe morning show, which I can barely stand to wake up to, but everything else currently on the radio is even worse

Bob Rivers, on his website, is hinting that he is in negotiations with KZOK, but doesn't know when they will be back on the air. Hope it's soon though, so I can stop waking up in a bad mood.

Cool Ford, thanks man. Yah I turned it to KISW one day and there were these different voices on the air and I was like WTF?

That's cool Bob stood up for what he beleived in. He always seemed the "down to earth" type.

That would ne cool if they did something with the funkey monkey 104.9! That would be pimpin' I think.
