    Default Cinco de Mayo-Tacoma, WA

I may have to travel back home to Oly for a few days for this one. It'll almost be a year at that point that I moved down here to TX. My birthday is in May also...

This would be a good excuse to head up to WA to catch this show...

C'mon WA linkers, who's in for this one???

My wife and I will be on our 10th Anniversary trip driving up Hwy 11/101 from LA to Seattle. Looks like we'll be out of town for the show at our home in Nashville. May have to hit Louisville and Tacoma while on our trip.

I'll be there. This is a better day for me than the Vancouver, BC show.

Question: How easy is it to get from downtown Seattle to the Tacoma Dome without a car? I know there is a bus/train in the day, but what about after the show at night? Do most people take cabs or what would you recommend????

If I recall, it's about thirty miles between those two spots. Best bet might be a taxi, but have no clue about public transportation then. At least it's just I-5 driving really.

^ Thanks. Yeah, I've driven it, but I don't want to take my car to Seattle this time, so I'm trying to figure out how to do this via public transport. Maybe a cab is the best bet or a town car or something.

I would stay in Tacoma. It will be a hell of a lot easier to deal with than taking the bus/taxi/etc... back and forth...

I will be there with some friends. The wife is staying home for this one.

I can't wait. Any clue when the second leg may go on sale? I keep looking online and only the 1st leg with VIP so far.

I think Ticketmaster screwed up and either I got extremely lucky or worse case, my 2 tickets I purchased yesterday are no longer valid. I am able to pull up the invoice from yesterday saying I bought 2 tickets and our seats with the processing code from the purchase. What Iím not able to do is Print the tickets from the Ticketmaster site at the moment. Thank God I copied the ticket PDF file, and printed 2 sets, as that IS an OFFICIAL ticket.

My thoughts are Ticketmaster put up the American Express pre-sale to the General public yesterday as a mistake. As I understood it before, only the VIP packages were supposed to be available via AMERICAN Express yesterday. That is why I was so surprised to see them able to be purchased yesterday at 10:00. Live Nation is having their Pre-sale on Friday and tickets for everyone else goes on sale Saturday.

Since I have not received an e-mail from Ticketmaster stating that my tickets are invalid, they simply are letting me keep them, as it was THEIR mistake for making them available early. Only once did something like this happen to me and oddly enough it was for David Lee Roth at the Emerald Queen Casino back in 2003. I was able to buy tickets 2-3 days early, which luckily gave me front row. Hours after I purchased them, they shut it down. Tickets went back up for sale that next Saturday like normal. Just as I did before for DLR, I used the printed ticket option via my printer and I still got in to my seat without any issue. My Credit Card was charged and all was good.

So, Iím again hoping I will be in the same boat and that our tickets are in fact OK. IF I get anything from them regarding invalid ticket purchase from yesterday, I'll be pissed.

Did anybody else from here yesterday, buy NON VIP Package tickets from Ticketmaster for the Second Leg with their American Express card like I did?

The AMEX pre-sale for regular tickets was yesterday (continuing through Friday), just like it was for a majority for leg 2 shows. Nothing unusual going on.

I believe there is a Sounder train that makes special trips back to Seattle after events at the Tacoma Dome.

My god. I can't believe how expensive these tickets are. 75% of the seats at this venue are about $165. In the not so distant past, I would be able to get pretty decent seats at the middle price level. In addition, it seems that many seats are being set aside for Platinum and VIPNation. Man, I'm happy for you guys that can afford premium seats, but damn it's getting harder and harder for some of us to buy decent seats at face value. On top of that, this is a pretty crappy venue. Didn't have much luck with the general pre-sale, but hope there are more tickets available tomorrow during the general sale. Managed to get marginal seats in Oakland for about $100/each, but also want to get a pair for Vancouver. The fact that these markets are also going on sale at the same time also makes it more challenging to find something decent. It's gotta suck for teens and younger people who finally have a chance to see the mighty Van Halen, but just can't afford it period.

I just don't see how they could ever build a fan base with younger people now. I was looking at old ticket stubs I have recently and things were maybe 1/5th the cost of now, if that. Heck, I don't make 5x the income now that I did back then! Just crazy how that stuff has gotten out of hand. I used to pride myself on being at or near the front for every concert I'd go to. Nowadays it doesn't have anything to do with how big a fan a person is. How many other people have a room devoted largely to their favorite band, among other things? It's seems like many concertgoers now are 40-somethings with money to blow, and it's one of the cool things to go do (even though they aren't some crazy fan). A lot of those same people couldn't care any less if Michael Anthony isn't involved, it's like they aren't even aware of it.

    Sorry for the rant...

Hey, didn't want to start a new thread guys, so I thought I'd put this here.
There's a place in Seattle if anyone lives around there, that are having a listening party on Feb.6th and will sell the cd apparently. Sounds like a fun time. I was just doing a google search and found it.
