    Default Gotta have standards

As I have professed in the past, I will not be buying a ticket to this tour unless the band acknowledges, in SOME way, that they existed between 1986 and the last tour.

Myself and many others spent thousands of dollars willfully during this period on a band we loved. No regrets. I just need this band to grow up and quit pretending this period didnít exist for me to actually enjoy myself at a show now.

The album cover fiasco and Wolf inserts on the Guitar Hero game were ridiculously petty. It tarnished my adulation for this band.

I was curious if anybody else here is on the same page as me?

I wish they would acknowledge it, but they won't. Look for my review of the show that you won't be attending.

I understand how you feel but I'm just happy in the fact that they will have a new studio album with Dave for the first time in decades. They have enough of a catalog where they don't have to do the Sammy-era tunes.

Not being a particular fan of Sammy era it doesn't bother me but I totally understand your position. No use bitching about it here though because I have feelin' few will be bothered by this fact.

While I think they should acknowledge all eras why do you feel that taking such a stand matters? Do you think Sammy is going to come over and reimburse you for the thousands of dollars you spent on his behalf? Do you think Mike is going to invite you for a Memorial Day BBQ? They care about you as a fan but nothing more. Dave, Sammy, Eddie, Mike, Gary, Wolfgang and Alex will never show you such deep devotion as you are showing them.

You and everybody here are nobodies to them. Life is too short to be blindly putting loyalties over something so trivial as a rock and roll band with a fucked up history. Its freaking music not somebody insulting a family member.

No, although I wouldn't mind getting a bunch of people front row wearing a "Where's Michael Anthony?" T-shirt...

Dave made a few jokes about Sammy Hagar during the last tour. Does that count?
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

This is not the band you fell in love with.

Sammy, Mike and Satch should carry the Van Hagar flag by doing a few songs during a CF set.

I think the real reason is because Dave does not have the ability to sing any of the Hagar era material.
Dave is a better front man for sure...But Sammy can sing circles around him!

Of course they acknowledge the period between 86 and the last tour. Their bass player was born during that time. How much more do you want?

Exactly. I'm a big fan of the Sammy era as well but I can't think of a song that they could do that would sound good with Dave singing it. Plus Dave would never do it. I'm more concerned about them mixing up the set list to include some classics that we didn't hear live last time around and would like to see them play at least 4-5 tunes from the new CD.

I saw 3 shows on the last tour. They were great but I'd like to see something different this time.

That would be great. I can see Eddie breaking down in tears upon seeing it. Not from being regretful for dismissing Mike but for somebody to have spent 100 to 150 dollars on a ticket while wearing a protest shirt.

Sort of like those jackass Occupy Wall Street using their Iphones or Android Devices to send pictures of them at the "protest." "Down with corporate America" however don't you love the nifty gadgets capitalism helps inspire.

We went through this in 2007. If you are that pissed about Mike don't go like several people here did. If you go with a shirt on, you are nothing but a hypocrite. Eddie, Dave and Alex will gladly count your money while answering your question to Mike. "

He is in Chickenfoot with Sammy. Thank you very much for your charitable donation to the Wolfgang college fund."
