Default Ed's EVH Stealth in promo (added knob?)

I noticed in the new promo video Ed has an added knob or something on his Stealth under the neck pick-up. Any guesses?

    Here is a screen shot:

Could be a kill switch or possibly a thimble type slide similar to the ones Bumblefoot had on his signiture Vigier guitars a while back. Doubtful that it's anything more exiting than that.

When I was a kid I knew a guy who opened for ZZ Top off and on for several years. He had a Gibson Les Paul with onboard effects built into it. Things like a phaser and a flanger and a chorus---these effects ran off of 9v batteries and he had a selector knob similar to the knob pictured. I don't know what Eddie has--just a thought though !!!

I'm guessing it's a kill switch......That or a remote zapper for Dave or the sound guy's shock collars.

It's so he can control the volume of Wolfie's bass that is being piped in from back stage.

    ha ha,

funny thing is when I first saw it I for a split second thought, "damn has he got a music man again there or what" and then obviously I knew he did not .

I guess I would have to agree that its a kill switch. Cant wait to see how Ed adds that into his playing on the new album. Well see what it is I am sure very soon.

I think he'll use for stuff like YRGM, where he used the old Destroyer's switch flicking on and off on the turned down neck pickup.

Also saw it right away and wondered what it was...

You know what would have been nice in that video? A NEW song to accompany it.

I'm not picking on you, AT, but I find it funny how people keep finding reasons to gripe. Let's say the video was accompanied by a new tune. I'm sure there would be people bitching because they didn't play the whole song or they didn't have Ed's solo in it or whatever...

Just had to make that comment here because this area seems to be more civil than the other parts can be... Thanks for letting me vent for two seconds...

Getting back to topic, I'm sure we'll know soon enough what the "mystery knob" is...

Wait a minute there. I own a guitar. Just because I don't know how to play it makes no difference.
