There used to be an AWESOME one that played at the RNR Cafe on Bleeker Street called, "Fair Warning." They only performed old school Van Halen and the guitarist, Eric Stewart, was note for note Eddie Van Halen. He even made the same exact facial gestures. They were amazing and played four hour sets that included solos for each one of them.

UNFORTUNATELY, I believe they broke up. ( Only fitting for a VH band, huh? LOL!) They were from New Jersey and I must have seen them maybe 40 times throughout the 1990's. I have their business card. They could actually be hired for VH parties at one time. What could have been . . .

All the DLR albums put together are only around 3 hours long, so even with solos those guys must have been playing almost every song available.

    That sounds cool.

Glenn- That also includes intermissions between sets. They would go on at 10PM usually and play until 2AM or 2:30AM. The best was back in 1998, I saw a three tier cover band gig which started with a Rush cover band called "Power Windows", a Crue cover band called "Theatre of Pain", and then "Fair Warning" came on. They all represnted their respective bands real well.

"Fair Warning" also included bootleg covers as well including Zeppelin's "Rover", "Rock and Roll" and I also remember them doing something by Deep Purple. When I tell you they were exact, I mean exact. Even how the singer talked to the audience, you would swear it was Dave.

    Glenn,

I think Van Halen ought to pay all of us a PR fee for being loyal fans through thin and thinner!

But seriously, I always have such a great time at 5150's shows that I want everyone else to get a chance to see them before they hang up the tribute act and move on to their original band project this summer.

Funkaliscous, if you're interested, they're playing in Buffalo on June 2 and Rochester on June 3.
