The RDC stuff just sounds so ordinary to me.

RDC is going after a niche market of people that are in their late 40's and early 50's that haven't gotten out of the '80's yet. That's why it sounds the way it does.

I liked the new song. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album, which Jake has mentioned will have a diverse pallette of sounds and styles. He also said that Havana was chosen to let folks know that it will still be a guitar driven album.

Listen to it 5 times right through, and you will start to hear some very cool things happening in this track.

I think the big problem is that the vocal melody in the first verse is absolutely terrible, and that is throwing people off in a bad way.

I didn't like it at all the first couple listens.

I post a video of a solid guitar driven song & two of the first responses are about how Jake's hair looks & how he looks having a cigarette in his mouth.

I sometimes wonder if aliens came down a decade ago and turned the world into one giant fucking politically correct hair & nail salon.

I always LOVED Jake's overall look, starting with the US Festival performance. He always had his own style and image - cool/mysterious/menacing. Add that to his playing and stage presence, and I've been hooked since I first heard him in '86.

Surprised about the smoking. I recall and old magazine where he dispelled rumours about heroin use etc. and claimed he was a health nut... Tbh, I like the clips of him in the RDC era where he has a bit of a booze buzz going on! Haha.

What does Political Correctness have to do with our comments?

It may be guitar driven, but the riff is just not that good.

Jake is capable of much better.

I liked it alright. Nothing great about, though, and does sound a little generic. But the singer has a decent voice and it is nice to see some real guitar and drum driven music being released. It is far from Jake's best work. That said, easily my favorite part of the song is from 2:19-2:31.

I was like that with the first song they released from the first cd, "Deceived" I hated the way the sing delivers the first lines but after you get used to it, its not too bad... Turns out to be a great song.

Again, I like the new song and cant wait for the album. I like Jake's guitar in the clip too.

I am glad I never was famous because people surely would be mad at how I let myself go.

Its not Badlands but I can't think of one band or artist that put out an album at 50 where you go "man that's their best work"

I just find it odd that, post Ozzy, he took such a musically pure & mature approach with Badlands.
But in his mid fifties, he decides he wants to be the next Godsmack.

Even his first true solo album after Ozzy, A Fine Pink Mist, had a LOT of diverse stuff. Sometimes even confusing or hard to listen to, given what we 'expected' him to do, due to his being who we knew him for... Thing is, the Ozzy side of him was just that - a side of him. He had/has much more music inside him to offer. I understand why Ozzy let him go... He's stated that he was asked to constantly write another Crazy Train or Paranoid, and that he got tired of those restrictions.

I liked Badlands and I like the Red Dragon Cartel. Cool music IMO, and I'm not expecting to hear Bark at the Moon 2018. I like his playing, ideas, and approach. His 'take it or leave it' attitude gives him extra props in my book!

Sorry, the song was just that bad, that the stupid cigarette hanging out of his mouth was all I noticed.
