Oh man he's going for it this time

"I heard this record is old outtakes from the old days. I mean, stuff from before I even joined the band. I heard this five years ago though. Michael Anthony was curious if his background vocals would wind up on the album. I don't think it's a bad idea. It's kind of interesting."

Somebody is lying. Taken within a week of each other

From Mike's interview from Premier Guitar
What differences and similarities do you see in Joe and Eddie’s approach?
    Anthony
They’re both great guitarists in their own right. Eddie would treat every song like it was an instrumental and either Dave or Sammy or even Gary would fit their vocals around it. I had to be more basic in my playing to really hold it down.

From Sammy's interview in Rolling Stone
But it wasn't like he wrote instrumentals and I just had to write lyrics over them, like I do now with Joe Satriani. Joe writes friggin' instrumentals. Ed doesn't have any songs. I'm sorry. I love the guy's guitar stiff, but play me a song, will you?

Which is it? Does Eddie have a bunch of parts lying around like Sammy or dos he have complete songs as stated by Mike?

I think we just need one thread titled Half of Chickenfoot Comments on new Van Halen Album. That way they can all be lumped together as each one gets the same comments from those of us here anyways.

Funny though how Sam has gone from he doubts the album will ever be done to they cannot get along, to now its gonna happen.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

I'd be more inclined to believe Mike's take on things, but it could very well be a little of truth in both.

for someone who's had so much success in his life it's amazing how he comes off as such a bitter little man and need to tell the world about how great he is.

If VH is upset that Mike and/or Sam seem to still be constant presences in the media in regards to VH, then maybe VH should get out there and make a few comments themselves?
