What's The Game Plan Going To Be?

I think that CF III is a great album and have listened to it non stop since it's release, but the time has come to move on and dedicate my time to other things.

Being inside a certain circle, I don't miss much if anything regarding Chickenfoot, and my interest in them will always be there, ready and willing to go.

My question though is, how are they going to keep any momentum going, seeing as how the official tour doesn't even start until well into next year?

Maybe they will release III again like they did with the first CD, with an additional song and a different cover design, maybe they have a game plan based on the release of singles, videos and appearances/interviews to take up the slack... I don't know.

So? any thoughts on what the deal might be with these guys, since they seem to have released a CD about six months too early from the projected tour start up.

It does seem like they released the CD too early. As far as momentum, the CD being out ahead of the tour doesn’t hurt anything IMO. If someone is prompted by the tour or hearing about the tour or an appearance somewhere to buy the CD, I don’t think they are going to not buy it because it was released 6 months early. Or were you thinking that ticket sales will hurt because the momentum of the release will have stalled?

The other thing that popped into my head was Sammy’s comments regarding having an arena tour with a couple of added acts. If this is the case, then perhaps the late US tour schedule is tied to this.

For me personally, it does kinda suck because I’m really craving hearing these songs live which won’t happen for me for 6 months.

Sam talks about going out with another act as a package deal? Did I miss that?

To play to bigger crowds I suppose?

I think you will see a bigger push when a certain band decides whether they make good on rumors floating about. Sam is a smart business man and realizes nothing is as good as free publicity. I honestly don't know why they would release a CD without being ready to tour in the near future. Maybe they really don't want to tour without Chad?

Chickenfoot and Black Country Communion in a supergroup tour de force. I am loving BCC these days, and they released two CD's in the span of one year ... a work ethic that surely would have killed a certain band

Listen to Joe Bonamassa talk about playing guitar at the beginning of this clip. In fact listen to the entire clip ... great stuff. At the risk of starting an excrement storm, very Led Zep like

Is there seriously question/complaint about the timeline of this thing? They are all older and have a lot of commitments. They have all said none of this is ideal but they'd rather get the album out than be in their 70's to release the album/tour. It's just the way it worked out.

I'll take the album now, I'll take the tour when they can get it together.

    Good question 47!

I was thinking myself that it's been a little quiet since the road test shows.
I guess the new year will bring new opportunities.

If those two groups toured together, I would get a ticket the moment they go on sale. BCC is so awesome and Bonamassa, to me, is one of the top 3, if not, the top modern-day guitarist.

As my handle would suggest, I love the Blues. I have been following Bonamassa for years (seen him live many times). The guy is truly amazing, can play anything. I agree with everything you said above. Who would headline if these two bands toured together though? Pretty equal in stature, history, etc.

Not you 47! Others have said (or heavily implied) that the album was released too early, or the tour is starting too late. I was simply saying that their hands were tied with Chad if they wanted to do anything in the next three years. I for one appreciate that they decided to do something rather than nothing!

The much anticipated Chilli Peppers album sure hasn't taken off. Even my friends that love them think it sucks. Does this increase the chance of Chad touring??? Just asking your opinions.

I would rather they just keep releasing albums and keep touring to a minimum.

I know it won't happen, but for me I'll take a great CD over a great show anytime. These long tours bands go on now really cuts down the number of albums they release.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I don't think that the albums sales will dictate when Chad is available again. The Peppers are touring road dogs who have fans on pretty much every continent. I think the tour will still be very successful. I know we're going when they come around these parts.

I personally don't see Chad available for 2012.
