Default Fu Manchu Cover VH on new album

So Fu Manchu, a 90s stoner rock band, are releasing a covers album.

Sounds pretty good, I've never heard them attempt covers though. I quite like them as one of those bands that were never really huge but are somehow always just around.

"That means you get Fu’s much-beloved cover of Blue Oyster Cult‘s ‘Godzilla,’ a frequently requested set-closer at their shows, as well as their take on ‘D.O.A.’ from Van Halen‘s second album, the title track from Thin Lizzy‘s ‘Jailbreak,’ and ‘Moving in Stereo‘ from the Cars."

If I told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about what I've gone through over the last 20 odd years, what it took to finally get where I am, people just wouldn't fucking believe it. So it's pointless. I now realize that I can't change people's minds, and I really don't want to or need to try. I'm at peace with it, and that's all that matters. - Edward Van Halen

My band has always toyed with covering Moving in Stereo, but we don't have keys or synths live, and have just not taken the time to figure out how to play it.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Many men eat but Fu Manchu!

I've had Fu Manchu's version of D.O.A. for years now -- I think it's about 5 years old. They released it as part of a 45 record with a bonus CD. I actually just listened to it the other day.

Loves me some FU...see em every time they are in town or close by. The older stuff with eddie glass and Ruben Romano is best IMHO, but they still rock out.

    Love the Fu!
Favorite album is King Of The Road.
They're a great no nonsense riff rock band, and I've heard them do a few VH things over the years. There are some boots still floating around.
The DOA tune I've seen online, as well as 'Devil and I'm The One.

Moving in Stereo + Phoebe Cates coming out of the pool = awesome scene.
This is my signature saying someone (you choose) made Van Halen better so I can say "Deal with it".

I legit clicked on this thread because I thought it was about the cover art for a new VH album that doesn't exist...............something involving a fu manchu mustache.....I think I need a drink, or a nap, or both.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Maybe this is the new cover:

HAHA! That's funny. They really rewrote the song. I mean it's like two different songs. Think about it this way: Would anyone unfamiliar with Van Halen that ever heard the Fu Manchu version that was asked "What classic rock band originally performed this song?" ever say Van Halen? Odds are slim. It's just another oddity to add to the lore.
