    Default Zlozower/Eddie Book

Just got my signed copy of the new Zloz book in the mail, (Thanks Jeff), and have to say I really love this book. In fact my wife bought it for me and read the whole thing at work when it came in the mail because she couldn't put it down and was blown away by the cool photo's and testimonials.

I have to say, reading/looking at this book reminded me why I am so passionate about this band and Ediie in particular. Hearing so many great guitarist all say remarkably the exact same thing was amazing. Specifically, almost all of them say Eddie in is a clas with only Hendrix or is the undisputed king of guitar. He single handedly changed guitar forever, whereas Page, Beck, Hendrix and clapton, together changed guitar playing in the Sixties. Eddie, however, single handedly changed everything again by himself when most people thought the Guitar could go no further.

Also, like most of us, they remember the specific day and what they were doing when they first heard Euroption. It was one of those few times in your life when you hear or see something you will never forget. I was 12 years old when I first heard this sound blaring across a park while I was playing little league baseball. I remember stopping in my tracks, turning around with my mouth dropped thinking what the hell is that? I was immeadiately hooked. I ran home and asked my older brother if he had heard a guitar solo from some new band that was nothing like he had ever heard. He replied, yeah, that's Van Halen, just bought the record today.

Like the other guitarists interviewed, I listened to that record for hours wondering how the hell anyone could play the guitar like that. He is the only "hero" I have ever had exept, of course, for the greatest quaterback who ever lived (Joe Montana).

What also drew me to Eddie was he seemed like such a decent guy who always smiled and clearly loved what he was doing. I was pleased to read in nearly every testimonial that all of these great guitar players also went out of their way to say what a genuinely good human being Eddie is.

Must of us here have become jaded and disillusioned over what Eddie became in the later states of his addictions. No doubt he has done some pretty idiotic things and has shown he is human and can be a dick when he is under the influence. This book brought back those good feelings I always had for the guy. It's a good read with some killer photo's. Granted it takes only and hour or less to go through it, but I highly recommend everyone buy this book who wants to feel good about Eddie again.

Hey, Destructo - thanks for that! Your review gave me a warm glow and has comprehensively persuaded me to invest in the book - I would have done so eventually anyway, if only to gaze at pics of The Man but to hear so many people remind us of what a good guy he was (and could be again) has sent me scuttling straight off to Amazon.co.uk. Cheers!

See it. Guess I should have looked a little more carefully before I posted. My bad...
