Default Ed in Tony Iommi's Autobiography

A few nice little mentions of Ed in Iommi's new book. Some about the tour in 78, him recording a solo for Sabbath's 'Evil Eye' in Henley-In-Arden near Birmingham (very near where I'm from!), and also about how he had dinner with Ed and Val after Ronnie's Funeral.

Some fond words on his playing as well and about VH on stage.

    Great read if anyones interested!

Sad thing is it wasn't recorded properly at the time so it was lost.

Ed def does that first solo in the intro...he starts it out with the bar down and then bend thing just like on his solo with Michael Jackson. I guess thats how he starts every solo he guests on...lol

isn't the song called "evil eye" and I think it's on cross purposes maybe.

Tony had dinner with Val and Ed after Ronnie died? That was only a couple of years ago....odd that they still hang out like that after the divorce...good for them.

Couple of years ago? Wasn't that just last year when Ronnie past on?

Cool. I was planning on buying that later today (and maybe Ace Frehley's book too).

I find it kind of funny, maybe a bit odd that it seems Eddie hangs out in public with Val to this day more than he does with his current wife.

Cool, apparently he co-wrote the song too. That's definitely him in there. Never heard of that one before. I found this little snippet, oddly enough from melodic rock in 2006. . .

".....according to the book, Eddie Van Halen did go into the studio! Tony Martin and Geoff Nicholls both say he was there. Tony Iommi picked him up from the Birmingham NEC in his car and took him to the studio. When Tony Martin got there EVH was there-playing guitar! Martin says he played on the track, Nicholls says something about leaving it a mystery."

On a reciprocal note, Ed was featured on the 'Black Sabbath' documentary I'd taped from the Bio HD channel during the week. He was very complimentary about Iommi's playing and Sabbath's impact on music. Very interesting.
Use my hand, I won't look!
