Default New York Lawmakers Received Email: 'Time to kill the wealthy'

Several influential New York lawmakers have received threatening emails saying it is “time to kill the wealthy” if they don’t renew the state’s tax surcharge on the millionaires, according to reports.

“It’s time to tax the millionaires!” reads the email, according to WTEN in Albany. “If you don’t, I’m going to pay a visit with my carbine to one of those tech companies you are so proud of and shoot every spoiled Ivy League [expletive] I can find.”

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos reportedly received the email, as did Assembly Majority Leader Ron Canestrari. The governor’s office did not tell the New York Daily News whether the governor himself received the email.

The email, with the threatening subject line of, “time to kill the wealthy,” was detailed and disturbing.

“How hard is it for us to stake out one of the obvious access roads to some tech company, tail an employee home and toss a liquor bottle full of flaming gasoline through their nice picture window into their cute house,” wrote the author of the email.

The email references terminology that has been used in the “Occupy Wall Street” movement - that of 1 percent super-rich exploiting the remaining 99 percent of Americans. The angry message demanded that Albany politicians “stop shoveling wealth from the lower 99% into the top 1%” and “set aside your ‘no new taxes on anybody’ pledge.”

Yeah, that kind of email will help.

Stupid emails like that reveal why you don't have a job and have the time to picket Wall Street.

Please don't take it as support for many of the assholes on the Wall Street, but as soon as you start threatening to kill a man and his family, you lose my support.

Also, their list of demands they released earlier this week were so stupid and out of touch with reality that it removed any support I had for them.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Of course. It's the government's money anyway (they just let the rich have some of it), and if they aren't gonna give it up by force, time to kill them and collect the inheritance tax. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Entitlement mentality gone crazy. You had to know this is where we were going though.

I love it, all these college age kids protesting and yet many have not yet worked a day in their lives and who can spare a week or 2 to protest? I'll tell ya, government dependent people who take and never give. Fuck these people.

A big part of the cost problem are government loans themselves.

the worst part of these types of protests is they take real issues and make them look laughable.

A perfect example is happening here in a couple of weeks where we have one of these copycat "Occupy" protests planned for Oct 17th. They spoke to one of the idiots, oops i mean organizers, and asked the reason for the protests. He started blabbing on about banks getting bailouts and other nonsense about the poor being badly treated and healthcare. Couple of issues, (1) no Canadian bank received a bailout and (2) we have national healthcare. This is the type of idiot who's leading these protests.

We have problems in govt, none of these protestors seem to come equipped with any answers. Just more bitching.

Hyperbole tends to kill credibility. The thing that is worrisome is that some of these people might try and turn this whole thing violent. I don't believe that most of them actually want that. But some troublemakers will push these protests in that direction.

I have a problem with this kind of thinking. And this is not pointed at your directly, so please don't take it that way.

This is a little long, so bear with me.

My father was born in 1933. He grew up in the depression and WWII in the Appalachian Mountains in western North Carolina.

    No running water, no electricity.

You want to take a bath? Great, go cut some wood, start a fire, go back and forth from the creek several times and make yourself a bath.

Toilet paper? Ha! It's called the Sears and Roebuck catalog.

No shoes of course, so you walk around barefoot on a farm. You get worms. How do you get rid of them? You drink turpentine and brown sugar.

You dad gets into a severe accident when you are eleven years old, so what do you do? You start running the farm, because if you don't, you, your mother and your younger siblings don't eat.

And yet, he was able to work two jobs, put himself through college and graduate school, get his PhD., and become a leading researcher for the National Cancer Institute and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

He was born with nothing, and never got anything given to him by anybody, and yet he made something great of himself.

I can understand people's frustrations, I have them too. But when your list of demands includes everything being handed to you for free by the government, it shows ignorance on a grand scale, and I lose all sympathy for them and their movement.

People are born stupid, and that can't be helped and those people should be pitied. However, the vast majority of the people I have seen in these protests are ignorant, and that is by choice, and I have no patience for that.

Great point edwardv!! These dirty hippies can't hold a candle to the Tea Party! That statistic right there proves that the Tea Partiers, who were totally ignored by the liberal lamestream media, are more deserving of the right to protest. I say arrest all the dirty hippies until they can learn how to protest in a respectful manner!!
