    Default It's banned books week!

the American Library Association is "celebrating" banned books week

    http://www.ala.org/ala/issuesadvocac...index.cfm#2010

Their lists of the most challenged books of the past few years is enlightening.....really? In 2009 someone was still trying to ban 'To Kill a Mockingbird" somewhere...and The Chocolate War? I've read so many of the books on the banned list, I guess that says something about me.

But "Nickel and Dimed"? and 'The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian" I can't see where those would ruin anyone's mind

I'm not in favor of banning ANY books....I think it's up to each parent to determine what their child is ready for

but I kinda could get behind banning Snooki's book...."A Shore Thing"....I think you should have to prove that you have read a book before they let you write a book

She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.

Can someone explain to me the reasoning behind wanting the Hunger Games or Twilight banned in 2010?

Hunger Games is no more violent than any video games being played, and the lead characters are heroic in their attempts to save and help others.

Twilight, what, because there is kissing?
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Here is a complete list. I had no idea there were so many. I haven't read them all. I probably never will because they're not really my favorite. "The Last Picture Show" was awesome, of course.

    Don't read this.
