    Default Interview with Ted Templeman

At VHND. He looks old and can't seem to remember things well. Kinda sad.

I think he was fine, actually.

I love the Unchained story...he didn't like what he was hearing and he thought the song was over so he tried to shut Dave up...come on Dave, gimme a break...great story. This guy has worked with so many dudes and done so much recording I'm sure he has to think about the specifics, and it seems he is still working at Sunset Sound. Very cool glimpse into Van Halen history. I can imagine a young VH recording in that studio, would love to visit that place.

The guy has probably produced thousands of songs and is in his 60's, at least.

He couldn't remember the song name right away, but he could remember some of the lyrics, not too bad. He did fine.

Hell, there's shit I can't remember right away any more and I'm 40.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I couldn't remember to put my kid's antibiotic back in the fridge last night and just cost us $25 to get a new one. I would rather have Ted's memory....trust me.

I had to run into the office last night for a few minutes. I knew I used my keys to get into the office but then I couldn't find them for about 10 minutes. I had used them to unlock my desk and they were still hanging there in the lock on the drawer... So I'd also agree that old Ted is doing fine.

Ted: "fantastic combination of chops and musicianship. I rank him along with Charlie Parker and Art Tatum as one of the three greatest musicians of my lifetime. Unfortunately, I don’t think Ed puts himself in that class.”

Interesting that Ted made the observation about Eddie having some self confidence issues. Eddie was on top of his game when Ted worked with him. I've always thought Eddie was one of the top 10 musicians to ever walk the planet.

An in depth interview with Ted Templeman is long overdue, where he goes over VH history one album at a time.

I've only ever seen short (very short) interview bits and some select photos of Ted Templeman. This interview was great to see!
