Default the "while we wait for the tour/album" thread

thought it'd be fun to see what everyone is looking forward to while we wait for some concrete info from the band themselves. ie....staging, lights, what old songs may have been re-worked, what al's kit will look like, possible opening songs and encores, will they dump jump? list some old halen tunes ya dig....rock out with it

i always wonder what the stages look like.

Get the show on the road...

    I looking forward to...
A job on tour with them, a week at 5150 before the CD is set for release to give my input and it be considered. I get to ride on the plane with the band, and occasionally ride in the bus with Eddie on the road to help write new music for the next CD. A suite at every hotel on the road. Backstage passes for my friends and any hot chick I see in the crowd at the show. Most important, at every show I get onstage for a few songs and get to play along. Oh, and a special thanks to me in the liner notes on the CD insert. They at least owe me that since I have been a fan since age 12.

I'm gonna preface this with the knowledge that this has ZERO percent chance of happening, but, since this is a forum and a question has been posed, here we go.

I'd like to see the guys do what the Foo Fighters recently did. They played their new CD, in its entirety, live in a studio, recorded it and made it available to fans on that there YouTube, linked through Facebook, Twitter, ect.

I was initially just gonna pick a few of the new songs to download, but after seeing this performance, pretty much every song was great and I wanted to say, "thank you" to the Foos by purchasing the CD when it was released.

Dare to dream, VH brothers and sisters.

If there was a less than zero chance, that is how much chance I would give them of doing something cool like that.

I'd like to see more interviews with the band. Not staged but someone asking the questions that we would love answered.

I hope the stage setup is different from the last tour.

Would love to hear songs like 'DOA' and 'Hear About It Later' played.

There's no way they'll get rid of Jump.....unfortunately.

I wouldn't mind if Wolfie picked the set list again. I really liked the set list on the last tour. Good mixture of hits and songs for us die-hards

Yeah Jump is definitely in the set list to stay. Certainly everyone here is tired of it, but it's one song that for certain all of their international fans will know, this being a world tour if the info is correct. Let's just hope that Ed's guitar can always be in tune with the prerecorded keyboard track this time around. heh heh

What I do hope is that Jump is not the encore this time, unless it's the first encore and then they play a deep cut for the final encore (good place for something like DOA). They should save that whole Jump encore with the confetti falling down and Dave riding the giant inflatable microphone for when they have a permanent Vegas show like Celine Dion used to have.

I had a weird VH dream last night.

I watched a B&W video of a new VH song with Sammy and Mike in it! Ed was growing out his hair, like in the Humans Being video. In the new video, Ed, Sam and Mike were sitting on couch or a long bench or something with Sam in the middle, trying to make peace, while Ed and Mike had their arms crossed and wouldn't look at each other. It was done in a joking manner, just acknowledging that there had been some animosity there. There was also performance bits in the video. It was a cool song!

Then I was at a park or something, and then Sammy was with me. I asked him if this new VH album actually had him on it instead of Dave, in light of the new video. He said no, he just did that one song. The new album did have Dave on vocals, but it would never be released. "Ed is burying it," Sam said. He looked really disappointed.

So that was it. I had to tell you guys about this dream, because no one else would get it or care, for that matter. Of course, you might not care either.

I appreciate this. It's funny how absolutely ridiculous scenarios in dreams can actually mirror both little bits of fact and subconscious wishes.

I've already started saving for my Diamond Circle* ticket so I can see the band up close and personal. I know it's $2500, but Van Halen only comes around once in a generation, so it's worth it.
The regular seats are only $89.50, which isn't too bad in this day and age, but they're behind a specially-constructed five-story wall. I know the concert will sound great from there, and the wall has all of these ads for EVH products on it, so it should look cool, but, like I said, a Van Halen concert is worth going all-out.

    *DIAMOND CIRCLE

I'd like the band to make all of their concerts available for download like Pearl Jam does.
