    Who is George Saer?

Hope that's not a dumb question.

It's not. I've been a regular here since 2005 and I've never heard this name before.

Most of it was interesting just coming from an engineering perspective. I liked hearing what he had to say about about Ed's process--and it was about exactly what I would've expected him to say about Ed circa 1998 or so. I love the recording process as much as I like writing music simply because it is just as much creation as it is technical.

I knew some would enjoy. It is amazing all the backroom behind the scene things that go into recording music. And this guy just seems very content with his place.

Wow very cool. Finally got a chance to watch. This is type of talk and info we all crave to hear...the inner workings of the creative and recording process. You rarely get a glimpse into what VH really does in such a no nonsense, straight shooter, informative and enthusiastic way.

great find! Here it is embedded to maybe make it easier for some to watch.

The 5150/VH talk starts about 17:17 into it. Very interesting. With VH working on something now, though this is not a reflection on what is currently going on...it does talk about their creative process, genius and all that. Very cool!

HailNgirl, thanks for posting that. Great inside info. Maybe someday (wishful thinking I know)we'll also get an in depth interview from Landee, but that was awesome.

Very cool footage. Thanks for posting. Pretty cool to hear the stuff about Alex. I would never have guessed he was such a behind the scenes kind of guy. George's comments about the Van Halen brothers natural skill and genius when it comes to rhythm is a pretty interesting observation. Good stuff.
