Where is Van Halen?

You have a better chance of finding Osama Bin Laden.

Like I said before, if they don't do or say something soon, ITS OVER!
2 years with nothing but "no news is good news" quotes from Brad.
Only heard that Eddie has/had cancer.
Eddie ran someone over with a golf cart.
Eddie played with Wolfie at school benefit.
Mike has a new bass.
Eddie plays shitty golf.
Eddie only does golf mag interveiws these days.
He and Dave wrote 3 "astonishing" tunes. (that we will most likely never hear)
Val has a new TV show.
Sammy has put out a new album and another in the works along with a book.
Gary has a new band and is performing new material.
Wolfie probably is graduating college this year.

Oh yeah, did I mention NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS?

Van Halen is done, get over it, get on with life. With Sammy, Dave, Gary, result is all the same...has beens, 80's throwbacks, old farts, whatever term you want. Any reunion with any singer would be as big as Vince Neil with Motley Crue...who cares...think in reality and you will see. Lot of other very good music out there to discover and get to know, check it out!

That is a question that has no 'good' answer. As for checking out other good music, I do like some other bands but I'll say this.....'There is only 1 Van Halen'.

Right on the mark Zadian! I agree, VH as a band is probably DOA. I would guess for most of us that visit this sight from time to time, we've long since moved on. Despite all the crap that hits the main-stream airwaves these days, there is great music to be heard. In the last few years I've been getting into shows like Austin City Limits and Sessions at West 54th. They are both excellent outlets for very progressive and cutting edge music. Incidentally, if and when Edwards' health returns, I think he should simply get back to making music anyway he can. Movie projects, guest appearences with other artists and the occassional solo album. As sad as it is to say, I think its time for him to move beyond VAn Halen the band. Being the great musician he is, he could be very successful on his own. Something along the lines of Jeff Beck's career. Anyone with me on this?

I can always find them on the 20+ discs I have in my collection. Oh, and Dave is on tour, and then there is always the Punks for those pesky live cravings. Not to mention I can find them in all of you crazy, and loyal fans.

Nah...that would be too "Sting-ish" or "Phil Collins-like" or "Clapton-esque." Eddie needs to work with a band.

The common thread being that Sting, Phil Collins, and Eric Clapton all continue to make solid music?

(Well, Phil Collins to a lesser extent.)

I guess my point is that you've referenced three musicians who've all learned to age gracefully... especially Clapton.

I would like nothing more than for Eddie to become more like that.

Right on Danny the Kid! You put it much bettert than I did. Don't get me wrong, I would love to hear more from Vh the band. However, I'm simply saying that if it isn't going to happen, Edward needs to move on. I love Michael and Alex, I just feel Edward has so much more to give. Maybe the fact that Van Halen is such a huge beast, has actually hindered Edward's growth. Dave and Gary have both stated that Edward has wanted to do different things musically but has been reined in because the Van Halen "formula" is just to powerful. I think VH III was exactly that. Edwards' attempt to move on. Let me also say that despite the fact that many fans didn't appreciatte the Balls it took to put out such an "experiment", I certainly do! I also really like VH III. I hope and Pray that Edward will continue in some fashion. For me at least, the world would be a less enjoyable place without him in it. Peace

I see where you're coming from. I would like to see Eddie age gracefully too, and have people like everything he does. But don't you think Sting and Clapton are a tad bit pompous?
