Default Sammy on Working with Ed

    Hey guys,
I've been reading Sam's book. He has a lot of insight into his dealing with the VH brothers and the recordings and whatnot. It's pretty messed up. He verifies a lot of Ed's bizarre behavior on the 04 tour. Some interesting stuff we've discussed lately here was the mixing of RHRN. Sam basically re-sang the whole concert. Ed and Alex messed with the recording for a long time before it's release. (I don't think that album sound much like VH at all, it doesn't capture VH live at all) At Ed's lowest points he spent most of his time obsessing over his equipment instead of actually rehearsing and playing.
    She's a ho, fo' sho'.

the whole re-recording of RHRN finally makes sense to me. I saw this tour and heard it on the radio.
I remember hearing a live broadcast on the radio of that tour and thinking "wow", they sound so good". Then when the cd came out, it felt like all the energy and fun was missing and I couldn't figure out why..... Well, now we know. It was all re-done, over and over again. Oh well, guess it really doesn't matter....... just one of those light bulb moments on insignificant stuff ....

Not really a topic for the Guitar Room. There's a thread in the Sammy forum for thoughts on his book.
