Default marriage is a dying institution.

Sexy Cameron Diaz, who has never lacked the company of attractive men, has declared that marriage is a dying institution.

I think we have to make our own rules, the 38-year old singleton tells Maxim in its June issue. I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don't suit our world any longer."

Diaz, who has been linked with Matt Dillon, Justin Timberlake and now Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, has pretty specific ideas on what makes a relationship work.

Guys need women who challenge them and don't let them get away with their s**t," says Diaz. "Women, conversely, need to not be crazy bitches who blow up when their guys tell them something that scares them."

The blonde glamazon is currently promoting her new movie Bad Teacher, where she plays a sex-crazed, pot smoking middle school teacher.

Diaz is ranked #4 on Maxim's 2011 Hot 100, and to repay the favor, Diaz happily posed for the bawdy mens mag, laying seductively across a desk in a thigh-high miniskirt and red stilettos in a clutter-filled classroom.

Its not every day that one of the worlds biggest movie stars offers to fulfill your schoolboy fantasies, pants Maxim. But then Cameron Diaz is not your average movie star Miss Diaz, weve been bad, bad boys!

As for her romance with A-Rod? Diaz tells Maxim, "It's really awesome."

Don't expect to see an engagement ring on Cameron Diaz's finger anytime soon.

The 38-year-old Bad Teacher star tells Maxim's June issue that marriage is a dying institution. "I think we have to make our own rules," she explains. "I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don't suit our world any longer."

Despite her fear of settling down, Diaz -- who's dated everyone from Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto to current beau Alex Rodriguez -- still believes in love.

"I love men more than anything. I want all men to be happy and have rad women in their lives," the blonde bombshell says. "But guys need women who challenge them and don't let them get away with their s**t. Women, conversely, need to not be crazy bitches who blow up when their guys tell them something that scares them."

When asked about her relationship with Rodriguez, however, Diaz is notably less candid. "It's really awesome," she says. "I love baseball!"

to uber-rich hollywood stars she's probably right.

To the rest of society, not so much. If anything I think marriage is starting to make a comeback.

What I find interesting about this is the fact that I know plenty of people who have already gone through a marriage that ended poorly who are now in a live-together relationship where neither one is remotely interested in exchanging rings again.

Marriage my be dying out. I'm not sure, most people in my neighborhood are married, happy or not. My only issue would be that the whole go hook up with whoever and don't bother working out the hard issues in a relationship has really had a great effect on our children. Guess if there are no kids involved, go do whatever, but when they are, people should be less selfish in the actions they take.

Agreed...in all the fighting between my wife and I over what will come of what, the kids have always been placed up front. At least we agree on ONE thing.

Generally speaking, it IS an overrated institution...but given the right partner, it's sheer bliss...no matter the bumps you may come across together (key word being 'TOGETHER')

Marriage just needs to be amended for modern society. Its never leaving.

No thanks. One miserable bugger is more than enough to cope with.

Well, my own marriage isn't dying out, I can say that. Pick the right partner and dedicate a life working at it and it'll work in most cases. Hard times are worth it. Problem is, too many I think get married based off a particular emotion or idea of marriage. After a year or two when the endorphins wear off or the other person doesn't exactly fit that mold of the idea any more, people just quit on it. It's just easier.

Disclaimer- For the most part, I'm talking mostly about the uber rich and highly publicized like dipshit Diaz here. That's a trippy society, but it does seem to have a trickle down effect in to normal society where much of that is also taking place. Our examples of theology and marriage from the southern california group of actors and actresses is dumbfounding as far as what is eaten up and set socially as acceptable standard. America has really gotten dumb that way.

You obviously have never gone thru a divorce. I hope you never do. Although I think the odds are high you will. The laws surrounding marriage and the breaching of the contract are archaic and need to be changed. They hurt both parties and the children suffer. Although the Bar Associations will lobby for the status quo because they make a fortune on divorce, and they cant wait for gay marriage to be legal all over and make even more fortunes on peoples misery. I got slammed 11 yrs ago and I am bit jadded but thats what I meant.
