Default Could the bin Laden Raid Have Revealed a Secret New Helicopter?

A picture of the tail rotor of the chopper that the Navy Seals' Team Six detonated revealed unfamiliar features. Reports say it could be a new, secret helicopter.

When the Team Six members reached Osama bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad one of the choppers made a "controlled but hard landing," according to reports, probably due to higher than expected temperatures.

Temperatures affects the density of the air, and low density makes it harder for the rotor to sustain the weight of the chopper, especially if it was near its maximum weight (being packed with soldiers and fuel to fly in from Afghanistan). Abbottabad is about 1200 meters above the sea level, and altitude also affects air density.

Ha just posted this in another thread..

Photos Reportedly Show Stealth Helicopter Design

U.S. officials are concerned that the tail of a military helicopter left at Usama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan could be technologically exploited if it falls into Chinese or enemy hands, a Defense official told Fox News.

A series of photos that a Pakistani security official sold to Reuters reportedly shows wreckage of the downed helicopter that the U.S. had to abandon after Navy SEALs killed the Al Qaeda leader and took his body away in another helicopter.

You can bet Pakistan is already under a hell of a lot of pressure from the U.S. to get it back into their possession. Doesn't look like any military helicopter I've ever seen, very stealth looking.

    I can answer this question:

    YES!!

Also, it can be said too that this raid revealed some bad-ass dudes with light saber type weapons, went into a house, handled some business and within an hour, they were smoking cigars and drinking Capt. Morgan!

Many, many things, "Could" be said about this mission!

Report: Pakistan Let China Access UBL Raid Chopper

The Pakistani government allowed Chinese military engineers to photograph and take samples from the downed top-secret helicopter U.S. Navy SEALs left behind after they successfully killed Usama bin Laden, the Financial Times reported Sunday.

The report comes after months of speculation and rumors that Pakistan gave the Chinese access to the super-stealth chopper.

"The U.S. now has information that Pakistan, particularly the ISI, gave access to the Chinese military to the downed helicopter in Abbottabad," the paper quoted one person in intelligence circles as saying, referring to the Pakistani spy agency.

The Financial Times reported that President Obama's national security team has been discussing the incident and quoted one official as saying the situation "doesn't make us happy."

"We had explicitly asked the Pakistanis in the immediate aftermath of the raid not to let anyone have access to the damaged remains of the helicopter," said the source, described as someone close to the CIA.

China is increasingly seen as a growing rival to the military power of the U.S., particularly in the Pacific Ocean. Earlier this week the Chinese government announced that its first aircraft carrier successfully completed its first sea trials.

China and Pakistan have for decades had strong military ties, and the U.S. government officially requested that Pakistan not grant the Chinese government access to the mostly-destroyed helicopter.

An unnamed senior U.S. government official told the Financial Times it is difficult to determine how useful access to the helicopter would have been to the Chinese.
