Default What's your karaoke song? II

There was an old thread from back in '02 (with wonderful stories from MikeL, Goo and Loons, among others - look it up!), so I thought it might be neat to see what the new visitors to the forums have to contribute. Basically just a thread to list the songs you like to sing at karaoke, whether you do them well or not.

I can't list all the songs I do, because I never do the same songs over and over - I will repeat a song after a few months or if I'm in a different place than normal, but when I go to the regular place, I like to mix it up.

Some of the songs I think are my best would include:

    "Day After Day" - Badfinger
"You May Be Right" and "Only The Good Die Young" - Billy Joel
"Will It Go 'Round In Circles" - Billy Preston
"Working For The Weekend" - Loverboy
"King Of Pain", "Wrapped Around Your Finger" and "Every Breath You Take" - the Police
"The Rodeo Song" - Gerry Lee & Showdown
"Blue Clear Sky" - George Strait
"Soul To Squeeze" - Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Live And Let Die" - Paul McCartney & Wings
"Devil In Disguise", "Follow That Dream" and a few others - ELVIS

I've recently done "Goodbye Stranger" by Supertramp a few times - it's all right - haven't got the nerve to sing along with the falsetto part yet.
Have tried some new songs this year - "Who Loves You" by the Four Seasons, "Easy" by Commodores and "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" by Stevie Wonder - all of which I think I did okay with, so will probably do me again. Was surprised I could do the Stevie tune. I did "Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring in a bar I hadn't sang in before the other night, I think it sounded okay but I wasn't sure with the lady's system.

I also like to do "If You Could Read My Mind" by Gordon Lightfoot, but I don't rank it as one of my best

hmm that is a tough one. I have a pretty large selection of stuff I sing quite a bit but I guess that top 5 that I usually do are:

Turn The Page by Bob Seger
    Desperado by The Eagles
    Black by Pearl Jam
    Honesty by Billy Joel
Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis

    Good topic!

Songs I have done and most comfortable doing even though I can't really sing.

    ZZ Top: Sharp Dressed Man
    Led Zep: Rock and Roll
VH: Jump, Panama, YRGM (in the VH style), Summer Nights, Right Now
    Goo Goo Dolls: Iris
    Free: All Right Now
    Live: Lightning Crashes

    Duets:
Sonny and Cher: I Got You Babe (with a hot chick this past fall)
Wonder and McCartney: Ebony and Ivory (with my soul brother while in the Coast Guard)
Bon Jovi: Wanted Dead Or Alive (totally shit faced with my buddy many years ago, I was Jon he was Richie)
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

Been ages since I've done it...but I did pull off a decent version of Ice Cream Man. Then again, way back before that, I did do the lead vox for that tune in a band I was in.

I've never been a big karaoke guy but here's a few I remember doing, all while completely shitfaced:

    Earth Angel
    Taxi
    Knockin' On Heaven's Door
    Freebird
    .
    .
    .
VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

ALL songs I've done were done shitfaced. It's what made singing in front of people sound like a good idea to begin with.

I can't remember every single tune I've massacred, but among them were.....

    Soul Man
    Mas Tequila
    Surrender
    Right Now
    Twilight Zone
    Dance The Night Away
    Humans Being
    Little White Lie
    Crazy Little Thing Called Love
    Rock and Roll Fantasy

Massacred is the right word. Describes perfectly what I did to Freebird.

Heavily shitfaced is the only excuse I can come up with as to why I would pick Freebird. It was on a blind date/first date too.

I have sang only a couple of times. Never alone mind you. But what I did was more like scarioke.
