Default Best Power trios (including 4 piece bands excluding lead singers)

Thought I would throw this out there, you can include the obvious trios of bands like Rush and Cream and also bands like VH and Crue given that their lead singers really don't play instruments per say. Everyone has their own opinions and it would be cool to see other ideas for this too.

    Mine would be:

    1. Rush
    2. Cream
    3. Van Halen
    4. Led Zeppelin
    5. SRV and Double Trouble
    6. The Police
    7. ZZ Top
    8. Grand Funk Railroad
    9. Triumph
    10. Black Sabbath

Great list! I don't know what order I would put them in though. I'd put Queen in there also.

OK, I'll play along. In no order.

    - The Who (Pete, Ox, Moonie)
    - VH (Ed, Al, Mike)
    - Cream (EC, Jack, Ginger)
    - ZZ (Billy, Dusty, Frank)
    - Extreme (Nuno, Pat, {Geary, Mangini or KFig})
    - Queen (Brian, Roger, John)

When you say power trio, only four bands really come to mind right away.

    Rush
    ZZ Top
    Cream
    The Police

I know there are others, and there are too many four piece bands for my little brain to think through, but for me, when someone says "power trio", Rush is the band that instantly comes to mind.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Agreed....I would think the power trio would need to play all instruments including vocals.

Guitar, bass and drums.....don't forget Chickenfoot!

And of course, the classic Van Halen, Van Halen and Anthony.
