    Default GREAT Sammy Interview

I checked if this was posted already and I couldn't find it, so I thought I'd post it.

Probably one of the best Sammy interviews I have heard/seen. This is from Sammy's stop in Toronto a couple weeks back. Jeff Woods is the interviewer.

Also it's great to hear Sammy say that the Toronto show was the BEST show on the 2004 Tour. I'd usually just pass that off as Sammy kissing ass to Toronto, since he was in Toronto, but comparing the T.O show to others I heard/seen on that tour...it really was one of, if not the best show on that tour. Cool to see Sammy acknowledge that.

    very good interview.

The Toronto show in 2004 wasn't good but in comparison to others it was a 5 star show.

Sam-"If they really needed a singer they (VH) could coax me into doing it"

Have this feeling that the work VH are doing with Dave is not going to pan out and Chickenfoot won't be able to tour. If Eddie is really clear I can see him extending the olive branch to Sam and Mike. Maybe not real soon but after this book stuff blows over.

I know the Dave fans are going to bash me on this but in my opinion, and nothing against Dave or Wolfie for that matter, that would be the best thing to happen.

In VH-land, anything could happen. Wouldn't that be the ultimate swerve.

Great interview. It's hard to not like the guy. He's smart and like he said, incredibly blessed and lucky. I really have no hope for any sort of new VH record, and I'm not shelling out the money they asked for the last tour, so if it can not work with Dave and the need to get Sam (and Mike) back, I say go for it. I'll buy the record.

I prefer CVH over Van Hagar......however, right now.....VH would be a better band with Sam rather than Dave.....IMO of course.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they can't work with Dave. It might work out and the new material, if we ever get it, might be terrific. But Sam was right, it's a weird dynamic with Dave and Wolfie playing bass. Don't be shocked if Dave is out again by the summer because they just couldn't make it work. If that does happen, Eddie should reach out to Sam and Mike in 2012. If Eddie is sober and clean and stays that way, it would actually be really easy for Eddie to make it happen. I get the sense from listening to Sam that he would go back to VH in a second if Eddie was the good guy he used to be.

I wonder if Sam would record with the VHs without Mike. During the interview it sounds like he would.

He might record with Ed. Ed's done enough bass in studio before Mike was out. But he wouldn't play live as VH without Mike.

Eddie was on fire on the Toronto show in 2004! He was the best one in the band that night. So I know what Sammy is talking about. I like what Sammy said about Canadians in that interview too.
