    Default According to Nikki Sixx...

...Van Halen is the best band to come out of the L.A. music scene.

I follow Nikki's FB account, where he answers fans questions. This morning he was asked who the best L.A. band was. I found that to be very cool.

Nikki's a good guy, and he's seen a lot of bands from the LA scene come and go. That's a big statement coming from him, and considering there's no news to speak of, is a nice little VH tidbit for the day.

LOL, that's kinda like saying air is the best stuff to breathe. Good old Nikki, always at the cutting edge of insight.

Naw, seriously, though...the best LA bands ever are pretty easily identified in upper echelon rock history....

    Guns n' Roses
    The Eagles
    The Doors
    The Beach Boys
    Metallica
    Van Halen

You could make a case for the Peppers, Zappa, Boingo, the Crue, the Peas, X, Social D, and Jane's, depending on your taste and preferences.

Someone should post a follow-up question on his Face Book page and ask if he's heard any juicy tidbits via his music biz connections about the rumored upcoming VH release. In other words, is it true VH is recording? Have you heard any of it? That kind of thing......

I'd say Metallica is really a Bay Area band. They didn't make it in the LA scene.

S'pose that's true. LA can't really lay claim to Metallica even though their roots started there.

A lot of the time, when people ask about LA bands they are really talking about the metal scene of the late 70's early 80's, so bands like the Beach Boys, Eagles etc. wouldn't be included.

And per someone else, Metallica didn't make it in LA, they made it in the Bay Area.

Where the heck did you get srirhacha mayo? Did you just mix it with mayo? Local Asian food store? Is Van Halen really recording a new album? Did you fry the bacon up yourself, or was it that Oscar Mayer microwave bacon?

Creamy Chili Hot Sauce (Sriracha Mayo) Recipe
Try this with any of your favorite chili hot sauces. I use a basic 3:1 ratio of mayo to hot sauce because my homemade Chili Hot sauce is not for the light hearted. Adjust your heat level to your personal tolerance.

    3 Tablespoons mayo
1 Tablespoons homemade Sriracha style chili sauce, Huy Fong Sriracha, Tabasco or any chili hot sauce
    1 teaspoon lemon/lime juice
    1/4 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)

    1. In bowl, combine ingredients until smooth.
    2. Use as dip or spread for your favorite dishes.
    ------------------

Sriracha sauce is man's greatest achievement to date.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

IAMA I am a stage hand for big mainstream artists. (self.IAmA)

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman
