VH is doing well in the first round. I'm hoping for an Iron Maiden upset but they're getting killed by Pearl Jam.

They do something similar on KSHE 95 here in St. Louis every year around March Madness. In concept it's a cool idea, but they have had to start retiring the big ones so other bands can win. I know they've retired Led Zeppelin, Rush, and Sammy Hagar so far.

And yes you read that right. Sammy Hagar. Lot's of Red Heads here in STL.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I know they mastheaded a new sound & all in the 90s, but Nirvana a #2 seed & Queen a #5? Come on.

And VH in the same region as the Beatles...ouch...they'll get my vote at the end, but I don't expect to be in the majority.

How the hell is Skynyrd a lower seed than the Jackson 5? And why is Journey a 14 seed against AC/DC? And the biggest shocker of all...The Red Hot Chili Peppers beating Black Sabbath? WTF?

In the end, it'll likely be The Beatles vs. Zeppelin regardless.

In the end, its generational. Who is watching this?

Consider this....30 years ago Model T cars were still bringing big bucks...then it was the 40's and 50's cars and now the muscle car era...as the younger gaurd takes over, so goes the market.

VH moves on to the round of 32 by taking care of Tool.

VH vs. Kiss in round 2.

You don't have to vote on all matchups. Just scroll down to the Van Halen/Kiss click on it and vote for VH!!!

Rush vs Metallica should be a battle in Rd 2. Pearl Jam is leading Jimi Hendrix right now perhaps aided by VHRs point about the vote being generational.

First I would like to say good luck to everyone and I hope your favorite band made it in and advances...with that said....IM obviously a homer, but really Van Halen over TOOL? Van Halen is almost like a tasteless piece of art that you have to look at because you cant believe made it into the gallary, or like the ugly stripper with no rhythm that isnt getting any tips and you can understand why she is there to begin with. TOOL actually has talent musicians and artists at all 4 positions not just a guitar player that has a cool t shirt. Honestly I cant believe that U2 is ranked higher than TOOL or crappy Van Halen. Thats should be a crime lol.

What t-shirt is he talking about? no bozos? hahaha this internet trolls are hilarious.

It's sad to see everybody threating Van Halen as a ridiculous act from the 80's that nobody cares or remembers anymore... makes me wonder what would have been if Sammy had never left in 95 or if Dave rejoined at 96 and was there till nowadays...

Also, it's funny how they talk about Eddie on the past thense, as if he is dead today (probably they think so).

SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST, BUT I HAVE TO SHOW YOU THIS ONE:

Tool trailing to Van Halen? This shows Colin's demographic more than anything else. Gotta love Eddie V, he was a great guitar player and they were a great band in certain regards, but in all reality, if you pick Van Halen over Tool, not only are you dating yourself, you're also proclaiming yourself as an absolute tool in your own right. Seen both live more than once, and there's no comparison. Maynard easily destroys the fat cocky #### that is David Lee Roth, as well as the fat drunk that is Sammy Hagar, and whoever the hell that Cherone guy was (who cares, really?). And Danny Carey very nearly is slightly less to drums than what Eddie was to guitar. Novelty factor counts as nothing to true music fans. But i guess if listening to Van Halen made you feel cool in your 1986 high school life... F- that. Picking Van Halen over Tool is like picking Motley Crue over Pink Floyd, even if to a much lesser extent.

HIS COMPARISONS ARE GOLD WORTHY BEEPAPAPAPAPA

10th seeded Lynyrd Skynyrd is hanging tough with 2nd seed Nirvana. Currently only a 6% diff between them.
