Will This work??? Diagram for grounding...

I don't have the greatest soldering iron, it's a 40watt Weller, so I'd prefer not to solder the ground to the bottom of the push/pull pot and risk toasting it, it was a tad pricey Bourns push/pull. The Franky I'm doing is going to have an active neck p/u and switched back and forth with the push pull pot.

So i though, get a grounding washer and make a jumper going from Ground on pot to washer, than put the grounding washer between the washer and nut on the pot, and ground everything to the grounding washer. Than run that to the claw and or foil or one or the other. Thoughts?

I just opened up photoshop, grabbed a few pics off the web, and drew a quick diagram for grounding.

I didn't complete the diagram being that i have the full diagram in front of me. I just drew a grounding pattern, and wondering what you think. If this will work?

You need the ground going to the claw. Otherwise, this should work. It's just the same as grounding everything to the back of the pot.

Sweet, so I'll solder everything to the washer, get a jumper going from the ground on the pot terminal to the washer, and run a wire from the washer to the claw.

By the way, does the washer have to be a certain metal for the solder to stick, like should it be nickel, brass, steel, or whatever, don't know all of em.

    Thanks alot,

If anyone else has input, please feel free.

If you use flux, the solder will stick to just about any metal.

The solder is Rosin Core with built in flux.
