    Default Happy Birthday to Wolfie...

Gosh, it's hard to believe that my Wolfgang is 14 today...

I really wanted the Transparent Amber but I they called me and told me they got in a red one (1st one in Olympia, WA) and asked if I was interested in looking at it since I was the first one to put a deposit on one.

I opened the case and as soon as I saw it, my exact words were, "That's mine."

Anyways, here's some pics from a few years ago...

Very beautiful... don't see that color very often. At first I thought this was going to be a happy birthday thread for Ed's son. I'd much rather wish your guitar a happy birthday though!

One of my favorite Wolfie colors. Nice to see! How does the birdseye look on the neck? I really can't tell from the pics.
Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

I have owned a lot of Wolfies (PVs) in my time but I have never had a red standard like that one. That is absolutely beautiful. Hang on to that one brotha....

    nice axe.

It's interesting you ask that... When I took those pics a few years ago, I had just cleaned the neck for the first time since I owned it. So it was like nine or ten years worth of EVHesque grime on the neck like the old Frankies... After cleaning it, it looked better but the neck is definitely stained. The back of the neck has a really nice quilt to it. Now, it's a few years later and it's back to looking like one of Ed's necks which is fine by me but it drives my girlfriend absolutely crazy seeing the dirty neck.

BTW, thanks for the nice comments... I wish I could use a better camera and proper lighting to get better photos of it but I will say it looks better in person than in the photos...

Congrats, a first year Quilt to boot- dont get better than that. I have an Amber and Purple 1st year Quilt and passed on quite a few Tobacco burst that had tops that were pretty sad, but red for some reason is the hardest one to come by in any condition. I only had a shot at one in which the guy was just asking way to much for. But that is surely wicked any way you look at it and I hope you are still ripping on it the next 14.

Ok, resurrected my own old thread...

Today is 15 years I've had the red beast... It's served me well... Kind of a bittersweet B-Day since the new guitar will be here soon and this will go into semi-retirement I'm sure...

I "semi-retired" my first Peavey Wolfgang a few years ago, too. It was the one that had been played and banged up the most. Later I brought it to my teaching studio to keep and play in its "retirement." Guess what happened... I realized how frickin' amazing of a tone monster it was and concluded "retirement" for a completely functional--and awesome sounding--guitar was absurd. That Wolf now sits readily available in my recording studio and makes regular appearances on recordings and at gigs--just like it used to.

AT, it will be readily available, I just know with a "new toy", it will be ignored for a while. I'm sure I will go back to it every now and again, but it will have a new kid brother that will be begging for attention...

Lefty, I have my Jet City "Super Stealth" on the way. It's getting close, pickups should be done this week and I think it's all painted and buffed, just waiting to be picked up for assembly...
