Default Indiana Dep. Atty. General Suggests "Use Live Ammunition" on Wisconsin Protesters

Okay, so he's now an Ex-Deputy Attorney General, but--Jesus!

Deputy AG Under Review After 'Live Ammunition' Tweet

Political Website Calls Comments Into Question

    POSTED: 11:46 am EST February 23, 2011
    UPDATED: 12:43 pm EST February 23, 2011

INDIANAPOLIS -- A deputy in the Indiana Attorney General's Office faces an internal review over online comments he made concerning protesters at the Wisconsin Legislature.
Mother Jones, a political website, tweeted Saturday "Sources in Madison say riot police have been ordered to clear protesters from capitol at 2 am," to which Deputy Attorney General Jeff Cox responded using his personal account, "Use live ammunition."
Editor's Note: Jeff Cox is the son of 6News reporter Norman Cox.

In an article published Wednesday on Mother Jones, author Adam Weinstein said Cox continued to advocate the use of deadly force on protesters.
Cox tweeted "You're damn right I advocate deadly force" in response to a query from Weinstein.
A statement from the Indiana Attorney General's Office said Cox's comments were inflammatory and that the office doesn't condone them.
"We do not condone any comments that would threaten or imply violence or intimidation toward anyone," part of the statement read. "Civility and courtesy toward all constituents is very important to this agency. We take this matter very seriously."
Cox's statements will be reviewed and "appropriate personnel action will be taken," the statement read.
6News has requested interviews with Jeff Cox and with Attorney General Greg Zoeller

There are protests over the budget cuts in Indiana now, too. I keep thinking of Fred Thompson's character in The Hunt for Red October:
"This business will get out of control! It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it!"

A number of Twitter users, apparently unhappy with the budget plan, have publicly pleaded for somebody to kill Walker. "Someone please shoot him?!" one user Tweeted. "Crazy people wanted!!!! Please have sniper skills," another wrote, later adding: "Some one please take out the governor Scott Walker."

Outside of Wisconsin, one lawmaker dialed it down a notch after he was quoted telling union workers in Boston that "every once in a while" they need to "get a little bloody."

The overcharged rhetoric comes a month after politicians and others called for a return to civility in the wake of the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and 18 others in Tucson.

Wanting to destroy public sector unions while doing nothing to curtail corporations' right to pour money into the political system is a clear attack on democracy. It would lead to a one party system, just like the soviet days, or Egypt under Mubarak. What the governor of Wisconsin wants to do is clearly extremely dangerous.
There's too much money in the political system, but you have to reduce it form BOTH sides, if not it will totally rigg the system.

Gee, a democrat can always find a reason why their hypocrisy isn't really hypocrisy after all, can't you?

I'm just talking about leveling the playing field. I would think anyone who believes in democracy would support this, no?

Apparently that's way over my head, that doesn't make any sense at all to me.

Democray leads to tyrany, little dreamer, so do efforts to level the playing field. See what our founders had to say about democracy.

This is scary. Nobody in the government should think like this. Further, this guy thinks he is all "American", yet the founding fathers must being rolling in their graves over this.

Sorry, bud, but I lost my nerves long ago. Especially when it comes to internet forums. My life experiences, while relatively short in quantity, pack enough punch in quality to make the trivial things in life just that: nothing but trivial. But be my guest in attempting to the play the game that you've destined yourself to lose in. I can still find some of the smallest things in life amusing.

    Oh, and you're welcome.
