Cool that Ed spoke, but they could have used a pic of the actual guitar he's sending to the museum instead of an old GW picture with the Wolfgang

They could also have asked a few more diverse questions instead of the 'same old, same old' and getting the usual answers...I know that some of them are necessary for the readership of a magazine that may not be as familiar with VH as we are but if you get an opportunity like that then a bit of originality would be nice. Ed probably answers those questions on autopilot - and, using email, anybody could (and might???) have responded to them. Yes, I do feel jaded today. Sorry...

I hear what you're saying. I mean, Smithsonian could have asked any of us those questions and we would have given them the answers in the interview pretty much verbatim. It's about as stale as six month old bread.

When you consider the fact that we live in a day on age when some people don't even know what the "Spirit of St. Louis" is, they are probably perfectly legitimate questions for the casual reader.

Come on, VHR - instead of the first question where EVH (or his cyber representative) was able to fob the questioner off with a vague, non-committal reply, they could have 'forced' him into a more specific answer by asking something like "List your top 5 guitar solos".

I just think that I would have tried to be a bit more inventive with my questions - as well as possibly probing a bit more - perhaps, leading into a discussion on future material / tours???

After all, if you get an opportunity like this one, wouldn't you be trying to get a real exclusive or scoop?

Heck, we can't even get a guitar based magazine to ask those kind of questions, I certainly don't expect it from a publication like this.

I hear you, matey. SIGH Bloody depressing though, isn't it...

When I was teaching, I was the editor of the school magazine and I wouldn't have put up with such shoddy, insipid journalism, even from the 11 year olds. It's a very sad state of affairs...These journalists (if you can call them that) need a red hot poker up their rear ends - that would get them jumping around a bit!

I'm seeing another "no press" tour coming our way. They probably hired some PR people who used to work for the old Soviet bloc to do their press. Ah no, actually even these guys talked more than the VH camp nowadays!

Naaah... They're using the North Korea Office of Information for that kind of stuff.... but I hear the Kim Jong I'lls son is more of a Hagar fan, and Kim Jong Sr. is way 'Old School VH'.
