Peavey Wolfgangs (not specials) tend to be priced around $1200-1800 on ebay nowadays. This is on the lower end of that. For reference, I bought a Cherryburst Peavey Standard in great condition on ebay last month for $1125. I feel I got a decent deal on it given its great condition.

I would ask if there are any major blemishes or issues with it. If not I would offer between $900-$1000 and see if he bites. That seems to be a fair price

Gold has never really been a huge price grabber for Peavey Wolfgangs. (I actually got mine for under $700!) But fair market value on the guitar right now is $1,200 or better. So if you get it for closer to $1,000, you're doing pretty well.

Ask about: Fret protector, case key, tool kit, manual, and original factory check sheet. If you can also score any of these items too, it adds value to the guitar.

Ended up getting it for 950.00..came with OHSC and all the tools inside.

It's damn near mint. Not one ding on the top or sides, and the neck is beautiful.

It missing the back cover plate where springs are, but thats no big deal to me.

When I have time I'll post a video...

even acoustically the guitar sounds amazing. I can't believe I waited this long to get one. This really is a top quality guitar. IMHO...

    thanks for the help guys

Look up Peavey's number on their web site, and if you give them a call you could most likely get that back cover plate at a very reasonable price (without ebay inflation). The last time I called them it was like calling a mom and pop hardware store with very personalized service- not at all what I expected. I just needed a few things like allen wrenches and a key for my case and they spent 15 minutes chatting with me on the phone. Didn't even charge me for everything they sent.

Oh and congrats on the new (for you) guitar- sounds like a winner!

you scored. the gold tops are actually maple tops just like the flames and quilts, not solid bass like the black and whites.

Call Peavey and order the back cover. It will cost $2. People who buy that stuff on eBay are crazy.

Yep. They have a LOT more Wolfgang parts still left than you would think.... just ask. If the person you get on the phone doesn't quite seem sure if they have something, ask to be transferred to the 'guitar guys'. Last time I called they put the head guitar parts guy on the phone. Super helpful company.
