Default PV USA Wolfgang Special Value after adding Tone Knob

Does anyone have any thought's or opinions on the value of a USA Peavey Wolfgang Special (solid purple), after adding a tone knob?

Should I do it or leave it stock?

    Thanks

if you're thinkikg of selling it down the road, then leave it standard. if you're planning on keeping it then do what you want, if you think it needs a tone pot then add one.....sorry to be so blunt, its the way i see it.

    +1

If you plan on keeping it, do whatever you want to it. It's not a rare or expensive guitar. If you do want to sell it at some point, then don't mod it in any way, it won't be worth anything when you try to sell it.

Maybe consider playing through something like a MXR 6 band EQ pedal if you want to shape the tone and knock off some highs.

While your add it, add a coil splitter. That will even make it more versatile.

I've installed tone knobs on two "from parts" Wolfgang Specials, and I installed one on a friend's factory Wolf Special (along with SD Phat Cats in his). It's a nice modification if you use the tone--especially if you play with fuzz ever. As far as hurting the value, as long as you install it in about the same place as the tone knob on the standard Wolf, it shouldn't be a big deal. Peavey Wolfgang Specials will never be worth killer bucks on the used market (excluding custom shop models). MAYBE the flame top models will be more collectible. I've seen some Specials with tone knobs put in really awkward places (like RIGHT under the volume knob), and that definitely makes it a less appealing mod. It's your guitar; do what you want with it.

I kind of like the simplicity of the PV Specials without the tone knob. I never use the tone on humbuckers anyway. The only case I ever do use a tone knob is on a S/S/S Strat (which requires a simple mod) on the bridge single coil to warm it up a little. I'm not sure why they don't come like that stock, but I'm geting off subject...I'd leave it stock.
