Default This was a fun one, upside down lefty ......

Just finishing this EVH up............the customer plays a lefty strung upside down. Bought an extra right handed nut to go with the lefty floyd This guy grew up only playing what guitars he had around him. So he played them upside down or every wich way he could.

Super nice guy , he just could not find the right guitar anywhere, so I was like OK ! Antique amber burst as well.

I will come back and post a finished pic in a few days or so.

    Ya know,
I read that Jimi could play normal, as he often would have to check out a guitar to see if he liked it regular...but preferred lefty. Would love to know if that was true...
Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

I've read numerous stories about this. Even by folks who gave him a right handed guitar. He could play both ways. Read a story where he was given a guitar, flipped it over and began to play it. The person who gave him the guitar said, "Oops, the strings are backwards for you." Then, Jimi played it anyway, perfectly and smiled at who gave it to him.

I will dig that up and post that. I just read the story about 3 months ago. I wish I could remember off the top of my head who was quoted in it. I'll find it.

AMAZING work, Scott! I've always really dug your stuff! One of these days, we may be talking .

    Awsome work, as usual, Scott!

My guitar teacher was a lefty and played with the guitar strung upside down as well (low E to the floor). When we were playing together it was always like looking in a mirror as far as fret positions, chord fingerings, etc.

Thanks. Here it is finished up. Really has a deep growl to it. This one ended up pretty lightweight. Probably 7.5 lbs. The new pickups I have going, the " Ballbusters " are smok'n. Wound with really high quality wire and magnets. They sound so much better to me than any of the dimarzio's. They have a deeper growl than the wolfgang pickups and are not harsh. I just heard back form a guy who bought a set from me to put in a music man super sport.

He said they were smok'n, really loved em '

M father met Hendrix and jammed with him a couple of times when he was working with Manfred Mann back in the late 60's, he told me that Hendrix played acoustic right handed! he could play a guitar either way round but fro some reason favoured playing electric lefty.
