Default What gauge strings are you using w/ a Floyd Rose trem?

Curious what gauge and brand strings you floyd rose users have on your axes. When I got my new Wolfgang Special a few weeks ago, it seemed to me it came installed with 8's. I usually use a 9 ernie ball super slinky.

    What you got?

I use 9 thru 46. Best of both worlds for nice deep bass, and ease of bending.
For the record, I use two Fender brand trem springs in the V pattern. Seem to work the best for a nice smooth balanced action.

Ernie ball 9's. Super slinkys. With all my floyds. I only use Ernie ball strings and original Floyd Roses.

10s and nowadays I'm almost exclusively using ernie balls...though I really really really love Cleartone strings.
    Stay out of it, dude.

I've had great luck with 'cheapo' strings. First it was Guitar Research 9's, now it's Guitar Fetish 9's (which I think are the same set of strings with different packaging, since they discontinued the GR strings right when the GF strings came out...)

I abusively play my guitars -- some hours a day, and I leave these strings on for MONTHS.

I should note that I've tried Fender, GHS, Ernie Ball, Dean Markley, etc., strings and I always come back to these...

    They're so cheap, it's worth a try.

I was a faithful user of EB Slinky's for years, but at a gig a friend turned me on to Daddario's. I used to hate them years ago. They just seemed kind of dull sounding, and average, but I have to say for guitars they're all I use now. My breakage is almost non existent now, and they stay very lively. I almost never have to re intonate because of their consistency. They use some new alloy or coating, and it's really good. The strings don't get all black with corrosion.
Even on my old guitar that has real beat up saddles, and I bend heavy, I still don't break a string. I just change them when they sound and feel worn. But I must admit Slinky's do give a character to their bass strings, so I still use them for bass and would never change.

I've had the exact same experience. D'addarios are a very nice sounding string, very warm and comfortable for the fingers. I used EB Super Slinkys exclusively for many years, and now I hate those strings. Used to use Fender Super Bullets for a long time too, but those strings sound really dead to me now.

Ive always been a GHS Boomers guy. Nice, bright sounding, and I usually get standard 09's on my Floyd axe, and the David Gilmour set on stratocasters, and occasionally on my floyd axe as well.

Tried Ernie Ball, and Fender strings as well, but neither have stuck with me the way GHS string have.

I can't stand Ernie Ball strings. I go through a round of checking out other string brands every few years, and each time I try Ernie Balls I have the same reaction: bright sounding initially but not a lot of low sustain, and in general they sound kind of "slappy." I like GHS and D'Addario for durability and tone; D'Addarios seem just a little brighter to me. I've really liked Dean Markley strings every time I've tried them, but they aren't as accessible via my usual outlets.

I use a 9-46 set on my 25.5" scale guitars (which includes Floyds) and a 10-46 set on my 24.75" scale guitars.

In my Strat with vintage trem I do that. 5 springs, in a tungsten block and I had a machinist at my work make me a custom bar. Broke too many standard Fender arms off in the block.
